Believe it or not, Pikeville has been surprisingly good on defense this year if you throw out the June Buchanan season opener. While their coaching staff is known for scoring thousands and thousands of points in college, the Panthers play really hard on the defensive end. They held Paintsville in the low 50's (Landon Slone held to 12) and Covington Holmes to 62. If they improve their shooting troubles they might surprise a few teams later on this season.

I didn't know that. I guess that everyone's enrollments are just dropping these days!

If June Buchanan is only the 11th best team in the 14th region, then it is flat loaded!!

The All A has turned into a $$$$$ thing. That's why it is not a true small school tourney anymore. Way too many 2A schools in it. It is really lost it's fire since they started letting so many teams in. So if Northern KY can give them enough $$$ then the tourney will move there, that's all they're after these days!!!!

The Crum kid from Sheldon Clark is the most exciting player in the region. The boy can play and he is really fun to watch!!

How is this horrible?? Finally we have some kids from eastern Kentucky starting to put the ball in the basket!!

I know BMR would never try to hide anything, that is not how he is. I just like to look at the KHSAA website to see how everyone is doing. It is a pet peeve of mine when coaches don't take a little extra time to help everyone stay organized. And usually is is an assistant coaches duty to do these things. And heck, Paintsvillle has enough people sitting over there to take care of a lot of extra things!!! LOL

Keep the Basketball at RUPP forever, that is a no brainer!! And put turf down and move the football to Lexington as well. Driving around New York City couldn't be much more confusing than Louisville!!

Someone from Paintsville needs to call the KHSAA and give them the scores from all the games during the trip to Georgia. I know they didn't drive that far for just one game. Come on Tigers, what's the big secret about the other games on that trip???? You guys called in the game you won, but what about the other games?? On the positive side, sounds like they are finally playing well.

I would say a lot of teams would like to get this bug that Stephens has. 24 points is a pretty good night! Good win for P-burg!!

I don't know much about the case. That was just what I heard from a Knott Co. fan at work today. I thought it was alleged also. But who knows at this point. The only thing for sure is that they are not playing tonight!

I was looking forward to this match-up. The word is that the administration at Knott had some concerns about the safety issues at PHS following the menegitis death last weekend of a Pikeville student.

This game has been postponed due to health concerns at PHS.

What makes the Paintsville Tourney so great?? Looks to me like a bunch of teams that no one from this area would want to see!!

Jenkins is a descent team. They have about 3 really good players that make them dangerous on any given night. Sounds like they played well against ER.

Who made out Pikeville's schedule?? It is a nightmare for a young team with a new coach this early in the season. @ June Buchanan (near the top in the 14th) @ Paintsville (pre-season #1 in the 15th) vs Holmes ( #1 in the 9th, top 5 team in KY) vs Knott Co. ( #1 in the 14th according to the L-house ratings) I guess it will make them better if they can survive it.

Jenkins is not a bad team and I am not surprised they played ER to the wire. Sheldon Clark is a very good team so don't be shocked!! Parity rules the 14th and 15th right now!!
