That FG, sure looked close from my vantage point. Highlands has a very impressive Passing/Receiving corps group. The fumble, returned for a TF, made it a two possession game. Richardson looked very impressive running tonight. If there are two better teams in 5A, I would like to see them.

Just a little, can you tell.... I love this great game and what it offers those who are involved with it. We who are passionate about Baseball, must continue promoting and encouraging participation. It starts at the youth level, with getting kids involved and instructed with proper fundamentals. Lay the ground work for development, fun and effort. Utilize those who have played and want to give something back. Many former players want to get involved in Baseball instruction and just need a chance. Former players can be ambassadors to High School players, all across this great state. Baseball is played daily and to some, might be a reason the discussion is not what it could be or the media coverage, lacks at times. Use the school websites, BGP, daily announcements, quotes to the newspaper, encourage radio to do a game of the week. Invite neighbors out, to watch these young men play. Be positive and passionate about Baseball and your role in it. It's our obligation, to help High School Baseball in Kentucky continue to prosper.

Either way, about 3hr trip. In the Grayson and Boyd County area, there is some construction going on. I really doubt much being active, after Thanksgiving. If you want wide open, less turns - I-64 to Ashland If you want wide open, curves - Mountain Parkway I travel the Mtn. Parkway and don't have any problems.

From the I-64/US 23 junction in Catlettsburg, all the way South to Paintsville, US 23 is 4-lane. Road is very good and you will pass several docks along the Big Sandy, between Boyd to Johnson County. Travel time, will be approximately 1hr to Johnson Central High School. Those traveling the Mountain Parkway, will find the road being 2/4 lane in areas. Yes there will be some curves and up/down hills. Either route of travel is fine.

No one can/will control, what Parents, Fans or sometimes Players say. I learned long ago, to not let that stuff bother me, unless they worked up the nerve to approach me and bring it up. Then, as a Coach I would respond eloquently to them but would never discuss, internal team issues. Any team which has success, will always have some working to cause internal stress. Once they are known, than most logical people, will not listen to them much.

Hope he is okay. One of the best competitors and gives 110%, every time on the floor.

These kind of matters, need to remain between the Coach and Player. Keep the reasons private and in the locker room.

We have student-athletes, playing a game and all we want to discuss, is the Coaches and our perception of their actions. Start a thread and actually discuss the game. Give the Players the recognition, in another thread.

We that are passionate about Baseball, have to do a better job of promoting the student-athletes, whom play this great game. I've always said and firmly believe, "there is a school out there, at some level for everyone who is serious about playing in College". Our great State, has tremendous Baseball talent but playing 4 days a week, then on Saturday, often times means the media doesn't follow like they should. Some areas, will have a weekly or bi-weekly newspaper and never have box scores, but just a brief article. Coaches have to submit information, stats, game promotions and do interviews, to help generate publicity. Radio stations doing a game of the week, will bring in additional fans and allow others, to follow this great game. Webcasts are growing in popularity and I can see, Baseball being a great place for this area, to market.

Ashland player - "Ah man, this new Rule of having to perform Pilates before the game, isn't cool". Highlands player - "You're not kidding, I prefer P90X".

"Yes, it does look like the Blistex, isn't working. I would recommend that you use, a light balm or apply a second coat Coach, like mine".

Before the game, Players from both Ashland and Highlands, were rocking to the version of "Shook Me All Night Long", performed by Stickymitts. :banana:
