Does anyone have some stats on these two? 40 yard dash, shuttle speed, or bench press reps?? Those are all some of the main factors college coaches put into recruiting.

The tomcats lose 18 starters... Mahan, Thomas, and the younger Bonner(TE) return on offense and Thomas is the only returner on defense. The cats also lose both of their kickers for this year.

Alot of players improved alot this season for Ashland. For example, Burns and Hall were in their first year's at cornerback and outside linebacker and both played great all year. Also, Cordle had an outstanding year at LB and he had never played on defense until this year. Alot of players stepped up this year thats for sure..

I know this is a bit off of subject, but if Belfry were to win, would they play at Russell? Of course, Russell would have to win first.

I'd jus like to reflect a little bit on the tomcats season. It seems like when they lost to Raceland in the opener, it kind of woke them up a little bit. This is a huge senior class, and they accomplished alot this year and set the bar high for the tomcats for years to come... Thoughts?

Matt Thomas will be up there. He is a great defensive player.

Who all has NCC lost too?

Gross was never as good as Beach and was not even close.

Is the Mullins you all are talking about Benji Mullins?

Once again, let me clarify myself. I never mentioned anything about JC hospitality. The people I talked to from JC were nothing but kind and courteous. Just the noise.

I never, ever said the PA had anything to do with winning or losing! The kids on the field were oblivious to most of it. It didn't effect the score at all. Just really irritating to those of us in the stands who came to enjoy a football game, not be entertained by the PA. And that is wonderful about your future re- modeling.:thumb:

Thing is you can turn Dickie off if you want. Some possible suggestions- give visiting bands a little courtesy, remove the huge speaker from the visitors section, put visitor bleachers on the opposite side of the field.. To the most important thought I have about this game, there are no excuses. I think the Cats played a great game and I'm soooo proud of them. We've watched some of these kids play for 8 years together and have come to love them. They have nothing to be ashamed of and neither do their fans. They proved a lot to us tonight. I think they played the harder game. But don't worry, the Cats will be back!

I'm not trying to start a feud about the PA system again, but tonight I had to sit by the speaker and realized how annoying it is. I would say the same thing if Ashland's PA did this. High school bands are part of the high school sports scene and I think most of the crowd attending high school games would rather hear them than some one's selection of music, etc. None of the songs were taken personally, but everyone around us found them annoying and were trying to figure out some way to muffle it. We don't need continuous entertainment from the PA, we come to watch a football game.

I don't think you can say this because you don't know these Ashland kids. In a few weeks they've gone from a team who didn't think they could beat JC to a team that nearly did, and probably would have if not for a few costly mistakes. They came to believe in themselves and their fans believe in them too!!!

First I want to say how proud I am of the Tomcats...I think they showed they came to play ball. IMO they were not beat by a better team but by their own mistakes and penalties, some questionable at best. How can you call a touchdown back when the ref has already signalled it was good? They proved that Grimm is indeed stoppable. And next for the wonderful PA system and announcer. The enjoyment of attending a high school football game is taken away at JC. The music, the snippets from songs are very annoying, even when you're winning. We come to these games to watch our kids play ball, talk with friends, etc. and you can not do this at JC. It is extremely annoying and obnoxious. It also is rude, everytime Ashland's band started to play, they were drown out by the PA system. There were also times when Ashland was snapping the ball and the music continued. Not a fun place to play ball!

From what I have heard, Coach Biggs has had the team working very hard in the gym, and the weight room. I think it is safe to say that Ashland will be one of the best conditioned teams in the region.
