It will probably consist of three of the top one hundred players in the state. There is also a suprise, the best defensive player in the region.

Here would be my opinion.

G- Chad Jackson

G- Tony Auther

F- Micheal Fuller

F- Dakota Euton

C- Chase Jackson

I maybe agree with 2 of the top 100 but who is the 3rd I am missing?

I think he means Chase Jackson?

I have no clue who you could be talking about? Dakota and Chad are maybe two of the best..but who is the third you are talking about? And the best defensive player in the region on Rose Hill? I can't wait to see who you are reffering to.

I believe that is in reference to Tony Arthur.According to the RH folks he is capable of stopping anyone. We will see.

Tony Arthur can flat out guard. Is he the best? only time will tell but he is certainly amoung the best. I would also put Chad Jackson in the same catagory. Together I think they are possibly the best defensive backcourt in the region.

If they are that talented, why are they picked 4th in the 16th region which is considered a lowered tiered region??????? Being 4th in this region would leave them out of the top 40 statewide.

Rose Hill doesn't have a senior on it's roster. They are ranked lower than some teams simply because they haven't beat them.

The player ratings are based on potential more than past results. Chase Jackson is a good example of this. I think Chase will turn plenty of heads this year but he has to do it on the floor.

I think somewhere 4-7 in the region is fair.

You are very correct.RH is probably in the top 4-7 teams in the region.Everyone is expecting a great deal but it must remembered that the Royals have won but one region game in the last three years.Do I think they will exceed that this year?Of course! But they still have much to prove on the court.BTW who will RH scrimmage in the preseason?

I think Rose Hill will miss not having Kyle Bair on the floor. From what I know of him, he's a very good kid, and a solid basketball player.

Of course, with an uncle like "Sugar" Bair .... :D

What happens "if" Jackson and Euton do not live up to the hype? Gotta be tough on them when Rose Hill and their AAU are pushing their names full stern.

I think the greater possibility is, "What happens IF they DO live up to the hype?"

My prediction is that the true experts will continue to shower them with props, while a bunch of self-important “experts” will try to tear down two of the hardest working kids in the game because they can't stand that these fine young men are enjoying the success and recognition they have worked so hard to earn.

I hope I'm wrong, but so far that seems like a pretty safe guess.

Obviously you are much closer to the program at Rose Hill than I am, but I have to say that at this point, I don't know anyone that has tried to tear down either of these two.

I have spoken with people that KNOW basketball, and I have never heard anything but praise for the abilities and skills of both Jackson and Euton. I have never seen Jackson play, but I would go as far as to say that anyone that questions the ability or skills of Euton would have absolutely zero credibility, in terms of judging basketball talent. The kid can flat play the game of basketball.

Some on here may think I'm nuts, but I'll give you a little nugget. If Euton had chosen to play football, he would have been an extremely good offensive lineman. He is now, and has always been, aggressive, smart, strong (relative to age), big, and a natural leader. His work ethic is exemplary.

I had the good fortune to coach him in youth football, and I know what I am talking about. He was not simply a kid that matured earlier than others, and was able to dominate due to that advantage that usually erodes by the freshman or sophomore year.

Coaches speak very openly about athletes, when non coaches aren't around. I have personally heard some of the highest praise of Euton come from the people in positions of power at Ashland. Believe me when I say that these were NOT false platitudes.
