Highlands 28 St. Xavier 13 (JV)
Compared to Ballard, Male, Trinity, Highlands, and I'm sure there are more to come. Don't pat yourself too hard on the back when you beat a very so-so team by only 2 TDs.

The game was at Highlands and our JV team is not very good.

St. X and Coach Glaser
Once again, like I said earlier, let me know if you ever win one. The last two we won were 1958 and 1962. Was Trinity at the kindergarden stage then? :sssh:

St. X and Coach Glaser
In basketball, can you say FOUR STATE TITLES? I don't think so. When you win one let me know. Now let's get back to football where you do have some degree of competence.

St. X and Coach Glaser
Usually you get hit with both the LARGE DISPARITY in both state-titles-in-other sports and number-of-National Merit Semi-Finalists, so I think you got off easy this time.

CJ article concerning realignment
Looks like a scheduling battle between X/T and M/M, H. However, I did notice that Tackett said in the paper that they could ignor the "recommended" district game weeks and file for an exception with an "alternate plan".
-
CJ article concerning realignment
A district game can be played in week 6 if week 7 is an OPEN week. In this way X/T can still play "THE GAME" at the same time of year as always. This will also allow Male/Manual to schedule their big rivalry game in week 7 without any competition from St. X. or Trinity. This should actually help the crowds for both games.

CJ article concerning realignment
This "common schools" term could be a keg of dynamite! The most obvious thing these schools have in common, when it comes to football realignment, is that none of the four are pantywaists in football, so no one wants to play them.

Never mind on this, you have already responded.

CJ article concerning realignment
I for one am confused, and I believe that there are many others in the same boat with me. Can you please explain to my feeble mind the similarities to which Tackett is refering amongest St. X., Trinity, Male, and Manual, and how the other Jefferson County Schools (Fern Creek, Eastern, Ballard, Southern, etc.) are dissimilar?
-
CJ article concerning realignment
"We wanted them to be in with the most common schools, and that took Trinity out of the picture," Tackett said. Can someone please define what "common schools" means in Tackett vernacular? Is he alluding to the difference in disciplinary codes and academic performance? Isn't there some discrimination here?

CJ article concerning realignment
You have definitely hit the nail on the head with this post, Mustang! :thumb: I think that anyone with any common sense can see through this smokescreen being spewed. Personally I would have much more respect for the KHSAA if they would just be more forthright and honest about the fact that an opportunity presented itself to further abate the public/private confrontation and they seized it. I can handle that, but I despise deception! :irked: Is there some political concern that if all the cards are laid on the table, the KHSAA may find itself confronted by members of the State Legislature again? Can't we just try to be totally honest for once?

St. X and Coach Glaser
I guess that is why some Trinity players come to Coach Glaser for college recruiting assistance, since they can't get any help from their own coach.

Do you agree with Alabama Larry?
Sounds like you found a bottle of Kick-A-Poo Joy Juice, Larry.

The Fallacy of the T and X Fans
My, my, H! I am truly surprised by the venom being spewed. This is just a continuation of the socialistically targeted witch hunt which occurs when any entity's success displays signs of longevity. Don't try to emulate it. Just plot to tear it down, so the pieces can be fed to the masses who wish to minimize competition and reward mediocrity. Let's just call this KHSAA sharade for what it truly is. This 6A realignment was directed specifically at minimizing the teams who could potentially have to beat both Trinity and St. X. to claim a championship. You allude to this yourself. Personally, I can live with it, as I can forsee a much stronger regular season schedule with its attendent larger crowds and income, plus the money from the added X/T game in better weather conditions. However, the odd part of this situation now is that it is Male and Manual who were the lucky twosome chosen to join our little four-man group, so they are now the only ones sentenced to this horrid X/T gauntlet annually before even getting to the semi-finals. I wonder does it bother you as to why you were chosen to be so lucky? Oh well, strap it up my friend and welcome to our new little sewing circle.

KHSAA Football Alignment for 2011-2014 announced
Between this announcement and the Guru's "pot stirring" threads, the wandering lambs have returned to the flock......Ox 316!
-
Can anyone defend this?
To your well-versed point, 02Ram54, there is no logic whatsoever in what the KHSAA has done. In their blind rush to get at St. X. and Trinity, they have smacked Male and Manual upside the head as well. I think the counter push needs to be a motion to seed the top 4 teams in each class. This would better assure that the best were still around at the end, while at the same time minimizing the travel cost argument.

KHSAA Football Alignment for 2011-2014 announced
As much as the public schools talk about our facility advantages, there are public schools who already have indoor football facilities.
