All Flyers in this one. Good bounce back from the poor play the night before. Hines had 17, Meyer 15, M. Hicks 13, and Fields 12 to lead the Flyers. Flyers have a tough week next week with Tates Creek on Tuesday and Madison Central on Friday, and a possible make-up with Lafayette mixed in there.

I don't know that I agree that WH handled FC's pressure. FC really didn't have any pressure. The seemed really flat and lacked intensity on Defense. Overconfidence and the fact they hadn't play since January 26th may played a big role. I still think FC wins the district and will have a good showing in the 11th regional tourney as well. This game may serve as a wake-up call for the stretch run. Only time will tell.

Franklin County @ Lafayette Cancelled! Franklin County's game last Friday vs. Western Hills is supposed to be made up this Thursday night(weather permitting).

The word is (weather permitting) this game will be played Thursday night at Hills. Boy/Girl Doubleheader!

Except for the fact that County beat them by 53 the first time this season!

Is this game going to happen? I have heard people from WHHS say it is going to be Thursday, and people from FCHS say its not decided yet. I know both have their final Freshmen games on Thursday night that would have to be cancelled if this game were to take place then. I stll can't figure out why the game didn't take place on Saturday night. The school board OK'd all Saturday activities, after cancelling the game Friday night. Snowed in on Thursday and Friday, I think it would have been a great crowd on Saturday night, but for some reason it wasn't played. The roads in Frankfort were cleared by lunch time on Friday, Frankfort High had a home game on Saturday and FCHS hosted the 11th region Freshmen Tournament on Saturday, but no varsity game that night. It doesn't make sense! I don't think anything can change in the district whether they play or not. What is going on? Anyone got any info on the game, I would love to know something!

Franklin County @ Western Hills b/g doubleheader is cancelled tonight. They are trying to move it to tomorrow. Should know later today if that is going to happen.

That is what is going to happen. A friend of mine at LCA just called me and said the schedule was as follows: 11:30am Franklin County vs. LCA 2:00pm Winner of FCHS/LCA vs. Madison Southern

I think they are just clueless. Not sure what is going to happen.

The tournament was set up by the 11th region schools to be played this weekend. The four districts were supposed to have district tournaments last weekend, and the four champions would play this weekend in the regional tournament The 41st, 43rd, and 44th all played their tournaments. The 42nd did not. 41st - Franklin County 42nd - Did not play 43rd - Lexington Christian 44th - Madison Southern

I heard Franklin County plays LCA at 11:30am in one semi-final, but not sure who is in the 10:00am game. The championship is at 2:00pm.

The 44th already drew and Madison Central plays Madison Southern in one game while Berea plays Model in the other. The 41st district seeds. Franklin County is the #1 seed and Frankfort is the #4 seed, so they will play each other. The other game will be between Woodford and Western Hills with the seed # still pending the outcome of Friday's Franklin County vs. Western Hills games. The tournament is at Woodford County.

They will do the draw on Sunday, March 4th at EKU. Each of the 4 district winners will host a first round game, and the Final 4 will be at EKU this year. It rotates between EKU and the Frankfort Civic Center.

He appears to be gone as well as Lewis. The Flyers played well, especially in the second half. I think they hit 11 3's with Meyer hitting 6 of them. That game locks up first place in the 41st District for the Flyers.

I saw a guy dribble it across in the backcourt(in front of two officials) and it didn't get called last night at Harrison County. So apparently it is all a judgement call!:laugh:

Cy Hines of Franklin County has been the best player in the 41st so far. Not sure if he should be on this list, but just thought I would throw that out there.

FC was missing a starter, and had another player a little banged up. The biggest problem they had was simply they couldn't hit shots. Shelby's big men were not a factor offensively, but they altered a lot of shots defensively. These two teams are closer than the score, but Shelby is still better. Their ballhandlers have gotten much better than they were a year ago, and they knocked down a few 3's when they needed them

The 11th region pays a fee for use of the Frankfort Civic Center when the region is held here every other year. However, I believe they get a sponsor to cover the fees.

I am not sure if I agree with the slow down part. SC does have more athletes, but they don't have more ballhandlers. Chambers will be load to handle down low, but a full-court game may slow him down. FC has more depth than Shelby, and I believe they will try to push it. FC cut a 25 point lead to 5 last season becaue SC couldn't handle the press(and that was with White and Slaughter). I think it should be a good game, and if everyone plays for FC, I think they win 72-65.

The Flyers were a little banged up the other night against Muhlenburg North. Not sure about the status of Deron Hicks after an ankle injury. What chances do they stand against Shelby?

He has been up and down. He can definetly shoot, but he started the season in a slump. His biggest weakness is his defense, which is probably why he is not in the starting line-up.

I assume the Doss player that you are referring to in Jeff Brooks. I would think Matt Walls of Scott County and Ty Proffitt from South Laurel would have to be on any list. I think Pettigrew is probably the front-runner. He has had some monster games.

Pretty good turnaround for the Flyers. The were down 7 to start the 4th, but showed a lot of heart down the stretch.
