I know a lot of people like Buckhorn, but they looked pretty ragged at the All A Classic. This is the biggest shocker yet.

The change may have been made in 1991, when the playoff format was expanded to include four teams in each district and added an extra round.

How would that be much different than football coaches wanting more classes so more teams can advance farther in the playoffs?

They beat Henry Clay and Montgomery County in Lexington. Henry Clay is ranked and some people think Montgomery should be.

Honestly, after about #9 or so, there doesn't seem to be much difference between the next 15 or 20 teams.

I'm pretty sure they won at Hopkinsville when Hoptown was either #19 or #20.

Both times in northern Kentucky and once in overtime. I've seen Holy Cross ... decent team, but the record is due to a fairly soft schedule. I'm not convinced they're a top-20 team.

I suspect a lot of the old 4A schools would be in support of it ... no Trinity and St. Xavier in the same class. A lot of us feel that the entire system was changed because of those two schools.

I still think the answer is five classes, with 5A containing schools with over 2,500 enrollment ... welcome Trinity and St. Xavier. Everyone else is in four classes. If a school had the guts to propose it, I think it could pass.

Opinion vary. Mine ... a lot of school wanted easier routes to advance in the playoffs.

Missouri also has a lot more bigger schools (1,500+ enrollment) and probably more small schools (400-and-under enrollment) than Kentucky does, plus you have to win your district to advance to the playoffs. Kansas, I don't know about, but they probably also play 8-man football out there, too.

When I tell people from other states how many schools play football and how many classes we have, they usually go "Why in the world do you guys have six classes?" It's a fair question.

Christian County was ranked in BGP's top 10 all of last season. Rowan County wasn't, but do you know of any ranking that had them in the top 20 before the postseason started last year?

Clayton Cain, a defensive tackle from Lone Oak, is also walking on at Western Kentucky.

Don't know of any connection between the two. Brad Lawson is originally from Campbellsville and played for Perry Thomas in high school. I think Mike Lawson is from Meade County or somewhere in that area.

I think the consensus opinion is that Calloway is a tough job right now ... they've had two really lean years and word is the talent level is low in the upcoming years. Lawson has a very good reputation as a defensive coordinator.

At one time, I believe the administration at Eastern liked the idea of having hundreds of students and parents getting exposure to the school and campus throughout the week. That attitude probably changed with the change in administrations. Financially, I think the City of Richmond made sure that Eastern was compensated.

That is the route that Corey Robinson, the Lone Oak product that was Mr. Football at Lone Oak in 2007, took to Troy.

Word is Paducah Tilghman's J.D. Harmon will be a grayshirt at Kentucky.

Heath had the game at the pace it wanted for much of the night with a junk defense and Bardstown's poor shot selection, but as so as Barstown's pressure got them the lead, Heath had to come out and chase them and it was over. Heath had a good ride ... they trailed by 10+ points in the fourth quarter in both the regional semifinals and finals.

The All A was a week later than usual last year because of a scheduling issue with EKU. There may be a calendar change factored in, too.

Grayson County ... heck, it as close to Elizabethtown as it is Owensboro. That's not west ... :lol: I consider western Kentucky to be west of the Natcher Parkway.

Wasn't LexCath missing a key player or two in those losses?
