Happened last week and surprised none of our resident Mayfield fans had any comment? Any idea on the style he will implement? When he oversaw the Mayfield defense they were great! Did not keep up with him as much when he was at Graves County.

I think the consensus opinion is that Calloway is a tough job right now ... they've had two really lean years and word is the talent level is low in the upcoming years. Lawson has a very good reputation as a defensive coordinator.

Don't know of any connection between the two. Brad Lawson is originally from Campbellsville and played for Perry Thomas in high school. I think Mike Lawson is from Meade County or somewhere in that area.

You are thinking of Mike Lawson, and yes he has been the head coach at O'Cath, Marshall County and most recently Central Hardin; where he still works in administration.

Coach Lawson is a defensive guru that reminds me of a old school coach in his approach to his handling of his kids in that he is stern. I thought he would have been a head coach years ago. No idea what he will do offensively but I would expect Calloway to be good defensively, somthing they have lacked recently

Unless they have some good young players on the team right now I think they will be down for awhile. The JV and middle school teams that I saw last year were not very good at all.
