......Lots of water and gatorade, ice, and plenty of breaks. Moderation in some physical activities is called for and VERY close observance of each and every Kid by coaches and trainers. It is also important that Coaches and supporting staff are well hydrated also...IMO...:thumb:

Wheeewwww... Highlands is a tough place to visit. Not only do they always have a great team to contend with but you must deal with the fans at your back. They always have a great fan turn-out. Most are good avid fans and others are downright nasty. The field facilities are very closely confined. A matter of inches separate home fans and visiting team. The indimidation factor exists. In no way am I slamming the program. I am actually commending it. I wish we could create the same...:thumb: Very, very rough place to visit...

........You are right hasbeen21, playing the tougher teams in the State has not helped the Warriors advance in the play-offs. I am sure that is not the motivation for playing the higher caliber teams. The competition of having played the better teams seaso after season is what is the driving force for Coach and his Staff. For our Warriors to look back on their playing careers and saying we have played against the better teams and star players in the State is the memories that are cherished, not the runned up scores of defeating the inferior teams. To have said We have played against great teams like Highlands, Male, Lexington Catholic, Rockcastle, Bell, Boyle,Danville, and on and on is thrill that is not forgotten. Competing against many of the best players the State have known such as Tim Couch, Michael Bush, Marty Reagon, and many, many others that have went on to star at the higher levels is the ultimate experience. To play ball and competed against the best is Coach's seasonal goal. As far as losing any of our players as a result of playing against the best teams has NEVER happened. Yes, we lost 2 players last year in our last game of regular season against hometown rival and sister school Pulaski Co. Then we did lose another starter in the following play-off game against Pulaski Co. Our hometown games are usually as physical as any. I would be remiss if I did not mention that SWHS is 14 years old and only a fledgling compared to the great tradition at the great institutions that we play.We are proud of the experiences we have gained even though we have not made it to the Finals. Give us the time and bare with us, we will be there sooner or later...Good luck to all the Kids out there playing football, see ya on the field...:thumb:

Literally speaking my man. You Somerset posters know I am biased as you all are. I just feel that any time some of you SHS fans get a chance to slam ole Keemo you will and have, for reasons unknown to me other than I am a strong SWHS supporter. If you would really support us as you say you do, then why doesn't it show in the moral support. Everybody knows that it is going to be a hard fought game between the ROCK and SWHS. It always is. Yet you know our Kids personally and you talk them down in the sense that you all or most give the nod to our opposition instead of our neighborhood Kids. There is such a thing as Moral Support, and should be dislayed whenever we are going against any team outside our little town. Rockcastle are always tough and fan support goes along way with all...:thumb:

They will improve with experiece.As of right now, our overall numbers are down for one reason or another. I expect those numbers will improve after tomorrow. SWHS injuries occured in final District game with Pulaski Co. We lost two major players in that game and one in the very next game, Play-off, which was also against Pulaski Co. Our back-ups steped into those positions and battled State power Louisville Central to the final play(Dropped pass in endzone) thus giving LC the hard fought victory. My point being: PC played us 2 hard,smash-mouth football games ending their season. We did lose 3 outstanding players for the remainder of the season and that no doubt would have helped us to have them against LC, not losing them to any of the power- houses we play, but to a well coached and determined PC. That is why I say to not write of Coach Hines and the Maroons. They can play good ball, especially against hometown rival... I think the loss of Somerset's quarterback will have the same effect as you suggest the loss of SWHS seniors. I know everyone is under-playing his loss and his contribution to the great success of Cole. I think that you and others may be over-looking the ability of Coach Hines to get get his Team motivated to defend against one of the best receivers in the State. Again, if you would research Rockcastle you would find that they also are in a rebuilding year and they will be struggling to find their niche, same as SWHS. I think that "swforever" and I feel that all things being equal, that we just never have truly gotten the respect deserved from you SHS fans and given the benefit of the doubt when it comes to games such as the upcoming game...

You know why there is no love from across town "swforever". Thats okay...SWHS 32-Rockcastle 12...........Pulaski Co. 19-Somerset 14....
