I guess we expected more from Central when they played Johnson Central. Maybe we as fans over rated them. Just a thought.

When you go back and look at who we as fans have predicted to play in Louisville we usually don't do very well. I think last year Mercer was picked from the, I'll call it west. We all picked that. 5-A team playing down. Good choice. Out of the east Belfry was picked at least from the survey of the Russell vs Belfry game. I do although feel that we as a whole have it right this year. Central vs Belfry. My opinion. I think that Belfry will open the eyes of those in the east. They will control the line of scrimmage and physically run the ball down the middle all night long. They will ware Central down even though they have had a demanding schedule. Belfry 35 Central 7

One of the main reasons that Russell does so well in it's minor sports and especially in it's girls sports is we do not discriminate at Russell.

I just want to comment on one thing. No disrespect to Central. I agree they have played the toughest schedule of any 3-A team. No question. They played teams that they should beat and in most cases they lost the games. They have won all the games that count and thats good. I find it hard to judge a team so hi that is going up against teams they really have no business playing. I understand it will make them a better team. The Central team that came to play Johnson Central appeared to be a good team but not of the caliber that Central was expected to be. Some of us expected Johnson Central to take a beat down. Now maybe JC is a whole lot better or Central is not that great team that we in the east hear is going to clean the slate. Once again no disrespect in anyway ment. If they are so good don't you think they should win a few of those tough games? I wish Central the best. I think the winner from the east, Breathitt, Mason County, Somerset, Russell, or Belfry will be battle tested and able to compete with Louisville Central.

It very well could have been 28 -0 in the first half. Now that's Mason Countys favor. Our defense kept us in the game. We could not hold onto the ball. I sure hope we got all the fumbalitis out of us last week. That 1 point win could result in two home games. If our teams do meet again I'm sure glad KHSAA has allowed us to come down to the Cam again. I just love that stadium. What a great place for football.

Some are worried about a place to sit. I'm worried about all this rain. I'll bet this rain will slow them Rams down so Russell can catch em.

Now how much fun would that be to have Ashland come to Raceland. Tell me the truth now. Isn't it more fun to beat them on there own field? After all Raceland has been pushing them around just a bit.

It takes one bus for the O-line. They are that big.

Central could very well have a .500 regular season and go on to win a state championship. I wonder if that has ever happened?

Maybe our bands are just small in northeast Kentucky but I can't see how they could effect a football game. The crowd is alot louder than the band. Must be them big bands from the big schools.

The problem is unless you have Time Warner you can't get it.

I guess if I brought my whistle to the next game I would be asked to leave.

You obviously have an inside track to know that he will play three quarters. I give the kid credit for playing hurt. He is although much more effective at 100%. Your inside track tells me he will play hurt the rest of the year. That is of course if you really know the real deal.

I agree. If I were the Coach and had to make the choice of playing Jones or letting his leg heal I would put Jones in for one series and not allow him to carry the ball. After that series he would help Coach Cordle who is the next Russell QB. If Jones goes out Cordle is the man. We know Cordle can do the job he has already proven that. He just needs more reps. If I were a gambling man I would say that Jones will play very little if at all. I really think that three weeks rest on that leg will do it some good. Don't underestimate Cordle either he is a very good QB. I think you called it correct midee 1

I understand what you are going through. I hate it when things like that happen. It makes me just about puke when I look at the tape of the Mercer County Russell Championship game. Mercer is on the Russell 1 yard line on forth down and the try a QB sneak. They are stopped cold. In the film you can see the lineman spot the ball on the 1/2 yard line with his hand in the air. The play is still not stopped. Finally after approx. 3 more seconds the ball is knocked out of the QB hands and falls to the ground. The rest is history TD Mercer. Was it a TD? Absolutely not. The refs blew the call for a state championship game that changed the outcome. I understand your pain!! If we meet again in Russell lets hope that the refs are on top of their game. All in all I feel the refs do a great job.

I would love to see Jones go out for one series and then help coach. We need him healthy for the playoffs.
