Oh, so we're 'Natives' now? Interesting. If it appears to be a 'us vs. them' ploy - You're doing the same thing by referring to people from Southeast Kentucky as anything other than 'fellow Kentuckians'. I guess in all reality, it truly is a small, country school versus a school situated in one of the biggest cities in the state. That's just fact. But please, don't be a separtist and call us 'Natives'. We are from the mountains, and we're proud - and people from anywhere outside these mountains are very, very welcome to come visit.

Do you have that link? I have never heard, or read Dudley say anything similiar to "The winningest Public High School Coach versus the Privates" in any way, shape, or form. Can you back that statement up with a link? In all my interviews with Dudley, he was very humble when asked about his win tally. He was very quick to give credit to the players which have played for him.

Congrats to McCreary on making their first playoff appearance, and to Bell for advancing to face the winner of Rockcastle/Knox Central. GO BOBCATS!

I believe that teams in the odd numbered districts get to play at home on Odd numbered years. If so, then the game is at Bell. (Which, I'm hoping it is). Can anyone else confirm this?

Hey folks, Does anybody know where I can find a stream to listen to the Bell County game tonight online? I'm not sure what radio stations out of either counties have that capability, so I thought I'd ask some of you fine people here at BGP. It's less than an hour and a half from kickoff, so I hope I hear back soon. Thanks for any replies, and Go Bobcats!!

Good question. I know coach Dullahan retired two seasons ago. That may have something to do with it. They definitely get the kids and athletes, but it seems as though they're not progressing as they used to. I remember when hardly anyone started for Ben Davis until their senior year (due to the depth and talent). That's not the case - or system - anymore. Warren Central has dominated the past few meetings.

I live close to Ben Davis H.S. , and go to church in Center Grove. Ben Davis has produced some great athletes, and won a National (yes, National) Championship in the 90's. They've produced some NFL players, and most recently James Banks (great talent, got into trouble in college). However, this year Ben Davis is really down. Now, a team to watch out for in this area is Warren Central. I think they may be ranked around 6th or 7th nationally. Maybe someone with more precise information can confirm that.

Dustin had a scholarship and went to UK for a semester (for coach Mumme). He was not academically eligible. Sometime later he hired an agent, and had a tryout for the Saints. They told him to play Arena football first, then make his way to the NFL. That's the last I heard of his career.

Log Mountain Boy pretty much sums up my opinion. Bell should - IMO - be in front of Rockcastle and Central - maybe Lex Cath also. In regards to Bell's game with Whitley - the game wasn't as close as the final score indicated. And after watching Bell face Henry Clay - I don't think many 3A teams would have defended their spread option offense like Bell did. Bell deserves to be in the top 5.

Whitley could pull the upset here. My prediction: Whitley 24 Rock 20

That Poll is a joke (No offense - please don't take it that way). But Bell County outplayed Henry Clay - who's ranked 4th in 4A - through three quarters. Bell is top 5, if not top 3 in the state in 3A.

Well, you know, this crow don't taste so bad since most people were predicting Henry Clay woud come in a mop the field with Bell! :jump: In fact, somebody predicted a 52-8 win for Henry Clay. In my opinion, I believe we need to put on a pot of crow for that feller'! ... The game was much closer than the final score indicated, and if anyone was there, they could tell you that. I sure was proud of Bell last night. They nearly pulled off a game that NO ONE gave them a chance in. ..... So, I'm eating this crow with a smile! :thumb:

Now guys, I like having fun with ya'll. I know HC is loaded. But I also know that Bell is a different breed than most teams. (Their state-of-the-art conditioning program includes running up to the top of Pine Mountain and wrestling a Black Bear). I GUARANTEE no team will come into the Bobcat Hilton and beat the Cats 52-8. Nobody will do that, Nobody. :fight:

Mountain Men over City Slickers by two touchdowns. On paper, Henry Clay has more players, and better facilities. But Bell has the mental and physical toughness to pull out the game. Like many here know, you can't ever really count out a Bell County team. Bobcats will win.

I'll go ahead and go out on a limb and say Bell will shock the state with a victory Friday night. Mark it down.

I agree with h.s. sportsbest on this: I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS ISN'T THE MOST ACTIVE THREAD AT THE MOMENT!!! This should be a HUGE game. I'm coming all the way from Indianapolis to watch the game! Although I must admit I'm a '94 graduate of Bell High and was a memeber of the '91 State Championship team, so everyone should know who I"m pulling for. To me, this is the classic Mountain Men Vs. City Boys showdown. I know Henry Clay is loaded, and extremely talented. I know Bell County is under the guidance of the state's best coach (IMO) and Bell always plays sound, fundamental, tough-nosed football. I think this will be one of the best games in the state on Friday. My Prediction: Bell Co. - 28 Henry Clay - 24

I know, I'll miss the rivalry. What do you guys think the chances are of Bell and Highlands or Cov Cath scheduling each other over the next few years? I know I'd travel to either location to see that match up.

Hey, Aren't Highlands and Cov Cath going to miss the rivalry with Bell County? I know the folks on Log Mountain will miss the opportunity to face these heated rivals. What do you NKY guys think about that? Plus, think of the chances you'll miss playing on a surface that was meant for :lol:
