Your right, the the Best Coach in Northern Kentucky coaches a HS Team in Cincinnati, but if you look you'll see that I never said I thought he was the best coach in Northern KY, just that other did, and they taught him as such. Matt is a Great Coach, and one of the top coaches in anyone's state, city, club, or HS. That is indisputable even by his opponents.

That's the (well substantiated) rumor. This could change a lot of things at Dixie over the next few years. Matt is taughted by most people in the club world as the Best Coach in Northern Kentucky. Add to that his ownership interests in Tri-State Elite, and I think a great many kids that typically go elsewhere may start to re-examine where their final destination is.

God that would be nice if there is. At present I'm planning on attending in my long johns and Alaskan parka. lol

and here's another bit of information to keep us warm this winter. Dixie's volleyball coach is stepping down and a high profile former alumnus is going to be taking over the reigns. Morgan may be going to Dixie...(no, no one told me that. But its the off season and a Dixie volleyball fan rarely has a reason to interject on the upcoming season thread. lol Seriously though, there is a reason I bring it up. ) I had heard that Popova was transferring earlier this year, but don't know if that is still being considered. I think her family was moving.

Dixie Wins... Don't care by how much. I think with England in the lineup and serviceable the outcome will be in doubt for quite a while. Without him it won't be as close. I really hope Dixie kids aren't buying the England's hurt or not playing routine. I've seen teams lose games because mentally they were already celebrating.

Some folks read way too much into a post FF. I know and agree with where you were coming from. I too think Hentz is by far the best player in NKY. No disrespect to anyone, all mentioned are great players. Without Hentz NDA's hold on the #1 wouldn't be as tight. Morgan makes plays in the front and back row that lead to sideouts or kills that no one else can make. Just my opinion.

I didn't post it, but I thought the 9th region would play out exactly how it did going into the season. What I didn't expect was all the parity between programs outside the top 3 or 4. The talent across the board was much higher at the second level than last season. Just my opinion. And by the way, somebody asked about the freshman at Cooper, her first name is Chellan Beasley.

Julia is a senior. These type of awards tend to go to upper classman a lot of times as a reward for their play throughout the year and their careers. The coach for each program decides who to honor with the award.

It was the third round. :isurrender: I meant to type third, but subliminally I can't seem to look past round one this week. lol

I've seen too many football games to say Dixie's going to the final, especially after seeing their bracket. Yes, they should make it there based on the teams on that side of the bracket but you never know till they play the games. I remember back in 04 when we beat Trinity and won the District, everyone thought we would make it to the final and challenge to win state, only to fall to Boone Co in the mud bowl in the first round. I like this years team a lot. I think its on par with that team from the past, and I'll be sitting in the stands cheering them on this Friday with fingers crossed that we live up to our potential. Dixie is hands down the best team in this part of the state, and that's saying something in my opinion.

I think you proved my point. We could name girls on the other top teams who are these girls conterparts and the evaluations of talent levels are about equal. That's no disrespect to the NDA players, that's major props to the girls at the other schools for being able to play at that level. But in all of NKY there is only one Morgan. Yes, volleyball is a team sport, but having Morgan gives your team a a plus five each set in the point collumn over any other player based on her skill as a defender, attacker, and all around athlete.

I think your question is loaded, but I'll bite. They have shown it... just not necessarily against NDA. They only play once... and there is no way to SHOW IT if you didn't the first time till now. Now with that said, I believe NDA wins for one reason. No it's not that they are superior athletes. It's because they have a superior athlete! Morgan Hentz is the real deal. The other girls are good, but there's a reason why she made TEAM USA's Top 48 Players last year in her Division. Shes a complete stud and no one on either side of the net on 2 courts can play like she does. She's the difference maker. Without her I'm not sure NDA could make it out of the semi's. That's how much I believe in her play. Please don't get me wrong. I'm not saying NDA volleyball doesn't have its share of Really Good players. They do. But so do Ryle, Cooper, and SHDS.

They came in second in their district and advanced to Regionals, which is all a new coach with young talent can hope for in the 9th Region if your name isn't Buck. :lol2:

Had teams not been able to play up, which I don't mind a bit by the way, it could have potentially been worse as far as representation in the final game goes. 1A Beechwood 2A NCC 3A Highlands (I think this where they are supposed to be according to their numbers.) 4A CCH 5A Dixie 6A - nobody but BC or Ryle might get an appearance if they don't have to earn it by facing T or X.

I had the pleasure of seeing Roy quite regularly this summer and I'm glad he's decided to stay. Perhaps his tutelage under Yeagle will infuse him with what he needs to get that program over the top. I hope he gets a QUALITY defensive coordinator to fix what ails the program. Lloyd has always been able to score points but stopping their opponents from doing so has led to the teams downfall. I realize that more than a few people would have like to see the program head in a different direction after this year but the die has been cast. Good luck Roy, I'm sure you'll do fine. On a side note, if Yeagle is still in the school as a teacher I would not doubt for a minute that he will be heavily envolved in reshaping the program. Roy and Mike are good friends. Say what you want about him but Mike Yeagle is still the best coach in NKY and quite possibly the state bar none when he's healthy. Good luck Jugs.

I've played, coached, and cheered this game for alot of years. The most classy opponent I ever saw was the Trinity Shamrocks Football team in 2004 after we beat them in the playoffs. You don't know what your saying my friend. There are bad mannered fans rooting for all teams. Not sure what experience you had but I for one will scream to the highest rooftop in applause and support of the school, coaches, players and fans of Trinity. They exuded the class in defeat that I can only hope to exemplify in life. Good Luck Rocks, see you in the 'ville.
