  1. They beat Mercer the first time played something like 10 to 1. Mercer had a great game and seem to be on their way to big things. Bottoms did a great job pitching with a good defense behind him. He will do well at Morehead next year. He is an all around great player batting aroud .500 playing an excellent catcher.
  2. Mercer wins all 3 games in LIT. They beat Holy Cross, Franklin Simpson and Manual. They playted a great tourney.
  3. You're right about Coach Jaggers playing the best players. He proved that this year. By doing that we won ball games. He proved that there can be more than just one good player in a position and both or all three can be very successful. This year he had 3 good running backs that were all able to carry the ball and mix things up. This allowed teams to be somewhat surprised at what he was going to do, which in my opinion helped us win ball games.
  4. I went to Harrodsburg and have a so who is an athlete that is a senior this year. I'm sure there is good and bad either way. Although I can tell you that I would not want the two combined. Not because I don't like Harrosburg students. parents ECT but because I would not want my child going to a school that is any bigger than Mercer is now. The more a school grows the less time with teahers, coaches ECT takes place. On the athletic side I think players that are just SO SO would fall through the cracks and many of the students need the structure sports gives. If I were a coach I would want the combo .... look at all the great players.
  5. Mike Bottoms from Mercer does a great job. Already signed early with Morehead
  6. Mercer at home against an Ohio team
  7. Brandon Scheller of Mercer County verbally committed to Campbellsville on a track and football scholarship. He had offers from Cumberland and Ky Wesyln but felt Campbellsville was right for him. Coaches did a great job assisting him on the recruiting process.
  8. I'm not sure one of the biggest upset but Mercer over Cessena's North Laural team. Set the tone for a great season for the dogs
  9. I feel that Mercer will be the one to win the district. They would have won this year I think had they not have been hurt by injuries.
  10. Brandon Scheller #20 Mercer County Free saftey, Tailback long snapper is looking at them
  11. I think Jaggers did a great job and deserved the honor. He took a team that most people did believe could do anything and made believers out of them in turn made them winners. Many people felt that Mercer had no chance this year but what they had was a bunch of determined players and a coach that made them believe they could do it. It would have been interesting where they could have went without the injuries they obtained this year. 2 starters with ACL injuries as well as another with shoulder tear. Seems like a lot to over come. But then again that's football.
  12. Was in Wed paper. CAn go to amnews.com
  13. Donald Walker Junior Mercer Co 1,445 rushing 6.9 yards a carry Nat Griffith Mercer Co Sophomore 833 rushing 6.9 yards a carry Brandon Scheller Senior Mercer Co 833 rushing 6.3 yards a carry in 7.5 games related to ACL injury. Rather in top 20 or not don't know but did a great job for Mercer. This was really the first chance all 3 had to even carry the ball.
  14. Brandon Scheller has ACL surgery on Wed Nov 23. Was a class act that Coach Jaggers alllowed him to have one more chance at a first down and one more touchdown. Mercer should be proud of their season. This was a group of players that had heard for so long that they did not have the talent to go anywhere. They were made to believe in themselves and did great. One has to wonder without the injuries of some very good players what would have happen. But that's football. Good job players and coaching staff.
  15. Have you seen Mercer play? If not don't say Russell has more talent. We want you to keep thinking that so we can come to your place and show you what can of talent Mercer has. This team not only has talent they have heart and perseverance and we all know where that can take you. Then you add good coaching and you will see where all this will take this Mercer team.
  16. Why do you think Morgan shot themselves in the foot? Because the pressure that was placed on them by Mercer. That's what a good team does. I agree that Russell will be tough but I often heard that teams like Mercer get over looked and then that's when you see them take advantage of the situation. Look for it to be a tough physical game. I still think this team believes that they can do something great and they will.
  17. Mercer will bring their A game. They always do. This is a true team oriented team. Jaggers have made them believe in themselves. I think it will be close but Mercer will come out on top.
  18. Brandon Scheller from Mercer is looking at Wofford which is about 6 hours away in S.C.
  19. Mercer always wants to beat Harrodsburg for bragging rights, But Llyod and Newport both go at the top of the list along with what ever team we play in the first playoff round.
