rebelfan15 Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 Does anybody have anyone on their team who has committed to Ky. Wesleyan?
jughead Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Daniel Runion OL and Matt Atkins TE both of Newport are close to committing
Xgrad-JAGdad Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 How is the Ky Wes program coming along???
The Scribe Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 I'm hearing several from Trigg County are close to choosing the Panthers.
MountainThunder Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 How is the Ky Wes program coming along??? Coach Holsclaw has his work cut out for him, but they are showing improvement every year.
JD Dog Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 John Hardin football team has several kids looking at Ky Wes. Defensive Player of the D.J. Marcum form the E-Town area (third team all-state) Jeff Smothers David Lopez
rebelfan15 Posted January 17, 2006 Author Posted January 17, 2006 We have 3 at Todd Central who may committ. My son is down to pretty much them and Centre. Maybe Campbellsville too.
jughead Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 With the jump to D-2 and the recruits they sound like they are getting as well as some of the returners they could have a pretty good season next year
GR8BigBull Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 The jump to DII is not going to be that easy. I look for the building process to take 3-4 years. If lucky, maybe a few transfers could get them there a little faster. The competition is a pretty significant step up. Coach Holsclaw does a good job recruiting but it may have been easier if he could have started recruiting for the move up a year in advance. A little shuffling of NAIA talent to make room for scholarship players in NCAA D-II is probably in the cards.
heisman20 Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 Brandon Scheller #20 Mercer County Free saftey, Tailback long snapper is looking at them

The best NAIA teams like Georgetown, Cumberlands, and Pikeville last year will be about the same as the teams they will face in DII. NAIA talent is on par with NCAA talent. NAIA allows 26 scholarships, while NCAA DII allows 32. There's not a big difference.

There's not a big difference. My point is they cannot compete consistently with Georgetown, Pikeville, and other NAIA powers, they will need more talent to be anywhere close in the move to NCAA DII as the competition is more like G-Town, Pikeville every week. In my opinion NAIA as a whole is more like NCAA DIII. Been around both levels and seen many games first hand to base my opinion of this.
rebelfan15 Posted January 24, 2006 Author Posted January 24, 2006 It is my understanding that while they are D2, they will play ina NAIA conference.
MountainThunder Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 It is my understanding that while they are D2, they will play ina NAIA conference. They are D2 in all sports except football. They are no longer D2 in football and are NAIA at least for the time being. This only happened in the past 2 years.
