  1. Congrats to East for placing all 5 starters on this team, as well as Coach Baker for being named Co-Coach of the year.
  2. I agree with those saying the Faulkner's are the heart and soul and most important players for Elliott. Their basketball IQ is tremendous, and without those 2 Elliott would be very average. Ferguson forces alot of shots and flops on many of those. He is a nice high school player, but the other two are more complete players, no contest.
  3. How did Greenup and Lawrence go on thursday evening? I heard Lawrence was loaded and scored a bunch in this one.
  4. Looks about right! Just kidding! I would put them about 11th or 12th.
  5. My grandpa always said to not mean mouth someone doing their job if I was not willing to do it myself. Good advice from a great man! I leave you with that. A gracious exit. I too will bow out, and agree to disagree.
  6. I agree the charge on Thomas was a bad call, but a make-up call at that. I also agree that the big men inside both battled back and forth. If officials get on here and determine how they are going to call a game by reading posts made by fans, then high school sports is a corrupt world. I just felt frustrated and helpless watching that game as did the fans around me, and even those from Elliott who were seen protesting calls against East.
  7. Now that's funny. Bonner rode Barnhill all night long. They both played hard and physical, but I think Barnhill got the worse end of the deal.
  8. My assessment would have been no different. I am pretty certain the game film would back me up. Jump ball when Johnson is undercut in mid air, charge on Johnson after steal when defender is doing the limbo, foul on Barnhill at halfcourt when the ball is knocked out of his hands, out of bounds on East after an Ashland airball and 2 East players let it bounce out on purpose, Barnhill rode like a horse all game, Bonner running over Johnson with a dip of the shoulder no call, East saves the ball back in bounds on the baseline and was no closer that 2 feet of the line but yet it is out of bounds, Barnhill dribbling off a defenders foot Ashland ball, bogus offensive foul on Bair at halfcourt, Ashland save in front of East bench with the player having one entire foot out of bounds, I could go on and on, and would feel the same way win or lose. I do agree they let them play and that is ok. I know these guys in stripes work hard and are going to miss calls, but not obvious calls, and not for an entire game. I am not saying it was on purpose, I am just saying it was horrible. I also hear the radio broadcast may back me up a little!!
  9. I agree, they were consistent, consistently bad. If one of those guys is one of the best in the state, and called many state tourney's, then the game has passed him by. II also know he may have had a few AIT's in his past, and after last night, may get many more. It's rare to win, and still feel so strongly about the officiating, but that was the consensus at Ellis T. Johnson arena last night.
  10. Great win for the Raiders, they had to play through alot of physical play tonight. I almost missed the 16th region officials tonight. This was one of the worst performances I have seen by the men in stripes. I am curious to see how Go Radio felt about this. Ashland played very hard, just couldn't get over the proverbial hump. Great effort nonetheless by both teams! Go get'em tomorrow night East!!!!
  11. If Powell is the class of the 14th, I wouldn't bet on the trip to Applebee's just yet. The 16th will be as good as usual, with Boyd being down for Boyd, which is still awfully good.
  12. Elliott Co. 76 Rose Hill Christian School 63
  13. East by 9. The Raiders are much more talented than the T-cats.
  14. Lawrence County should be ranked even higher. They are loaded this season. Greenup should be ahead of Boyd, but this poll is based largely on repuatation and name recognition. Boyd is the only 16th region team that has that recognition.
  15. Lewis is usually decent, should be again this year.
  16. Morgan will be very good. They aren't getting nearly enough respect in my opinion. They are good enough to be a top 3 or 4 team in this region. Lopez and Fannin give them a nice 1-2 on the hill.
  17. Congrats to the Raiders. They looked much more athletic than Raceland tonight on both ends. Also congrats to Raceland on a solid year and a district title.
  18. Ashland by 3 East by 7 Elliott by 21 Rose Hill by 18
  19. Congrats to Coach Baker and the Raiders.
