Homerun Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 Does anyone know when the pre-season #1 ended up winning the state tournament? Has it happened?
Knuckle Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 Poll should be a little better this year with coaches not being able to vote for their own teams.
Under the Lights Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 Interesting... not alot of love for the Northern Kentucky teams Not a lot of love? That's the understatement of the year...... So Louisville has 6 teams in the top 15 in the state and Lexington has 5 of the top 15? Shows you what preseason polls are worth...... Glad to see WKY baseball get some love though, but they still have to prove it on the diamond. :thumb:
Diamond Dandy Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 Interesting... not alot of love for the Northern Kentucky teams Never was, never will be....Ryle was in the quarters last year and still never made the list at the end of the season.

Maybe it just shows you how strong the 11th region and more specifically lexington baseball is.
YeSsIr Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 I thought Brossart was a clear 3rd in district?? They get votes?
playhard Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 Not much love for Greenup County...16th Region Champs who are returning a lot of talent. Boyd Co. getting a little more respect down state than they deserve probably. Guess we'll see how it all plays out!

Very slim. Beechwood beat LCA last year and yet they didn't even make it out of their own region. Lexington has some fine baseball teams, especially this year, but I don't think there are 4 teams in Lexington that are 20+ places better than ALL the teams from NKY. History of NKY vs. Lexington schools would support that.

GRC4LIFE Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 PLD Catholic Christian Creek They are all much better than anything in NKY. Agreed. Lexington is the elite when it comes to baseball. Throw in a few Louisville teams as well.
cooperstown Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 Interesting... not alot of love for the Northern Kentucky teams Of the 8 state quarterfinalists last year, only Johnson Central and Ryle didn't make the top 25. Probably has much to do with who all participates in this poll. Hopefully, Northern Kentucky coaches are indeed casting their votes.

I can't believe the lack of respect that we are getting.
