Central Kentucky is the heart of Baseball in Kentucky. But as everyone knows, only 1 Lexington school can make it to Applebee's Park. Look for the Thorobreds and Coach Whitaker to return to the State in 2008. Let's get the show on the road.

I thought Brossart was a clear 3rd in district?? They get votes?

 

Like I said they will be better than people think. They still have a lot of talent. They will surprise people.

I see that Somerset ranked at #20, but no love for my Rockcastle Rockets. They beat Somerset 2 times last season. I have a lot of respect for Coach Grundy and his program, but we did beat them 2 out of 3 times last season and we have Tanner Perkins and Crew returning.

I'm not sure how or why Boyd County and Lawrence County are ranked above Greenup County. Coach Logan will just use this to motivate the boys. Greenup should have a great chance to repeat as 16th region champs.

Lawrence County should be ranked even higher. They are loaded this season. Greenup should be ahead of Boyd, but this poll is based largely on repuatation and name recognition. Boyd is the only 16th region team that has that recognition.

Campbell County should get votes before Brossart, the wheels are starting to come off of Brossart's Sports Programs.

 

They have lost a lot, this is just not baseball but all sports. Putting them in front of Campbell County in a poll is insane.

Aside from some of the top teams who everyone tends to know about, this poll is completely arbitrary. It gives everyone something good to debate about but means nothing when it comes to playing games (if spring would ever show up!).

You have no idea as to what you are talking about. Simply because Brossart has had their way with the camels for the last seven or eight years and the camels are having some success this year? The cupboard is far from bare at BBHS. Schools have strong classes and they also have not so strong classes. That's the way it is in high school sports. Brossart will continue to compete very well with its neighbors to the immediate south for a long time.

As to the poll, it does not mean anything so why all the fuss? Just some coaches opinions a month before the season starts. One reason Brossart and newcath may have been mentioned is that they have traveled throughout the state the last several years and have played most of the top teams. Downstate coaches remember teams from upstate that they have competed agains in the past. Again, a preseason coaches poll does not mean anything.

They are all much better than anything in NKY.

 

We shall see, as CovCath plays Henry Clay on the 28 and LexCath on the 29 of March and of couse, I am hoping without Maile, Shover and Isler. They also play LexChristian on April 25 and LouMale and West Jessamine on April 26 and Lou Male again on May 9.

All four 9th district teams received votes. Looks like it will be tough again this year as always.

So Louisville has 6 teams in the top 15 in the state and Lexington has 5 of the top 15? Shows you what preseason polls are worth......

 

Glad to see WKY baseball get some love though, but they still have to prove it on the diamond. :thumb:
