Best Manager/Coaches in the 16th Region?
I believe he is in the Coaches association hall of fame, not the KHSAA Hall of fame. Still a nice accomplishment that you are eligible for when you reach 300 wins. He seems like a good coach, and a better man. The KHSAA hall of fame is very tough to get in. I don't believe there are any baseball coaches from the 16th to ever get in, that includes Joday Hamilton with 600 wins and a state title, and JP Kouns with 550 wins and a state title.

Who Will Win the 62nd District Tourney?
I don't think they will beat Morgan. I'll take East and Morgan in the finals, with East winning a very close one.

Congrats to 16th Region Officials
I understand that coach's ratings are 80%, don't get me wrong, I think Billman does an ok job and is a good guy. I believe , however, in all sports that their is a group of officials who tend to form a little circle of insiders, and those within that group move up the ladder very quickly. I have witnessed quality officials get left out of the post-season becuase they didn't look the part, or weren't in the right circle. I didn't mean to single Joe out, again I like him, I just get really disgusted with the way things tend to work when it comes to assigning secretaries and their buddies.

Pre-season 16th Region Baseball
I remember the game you are talking about, I believe Grizzle started on the hill against East and by the time Wilson came in it was like 10-0. He didn't have much of a chance, and I believe Ryan Sagraves 1-hit the Rams, so I agree their wasn't much offense on their side. Wilson has a chance to be pretty good, not sure he is the kind of pitcher capable of being a #1 and shutting teams down, but still very effective.

Congrats to 16th Region Officials
He does, however, have the right circle of friends. That will take you a long way in the officiating business. Marla is a good official who genuinely understands the game. I believe Joe is a good man indeed, and a very average official. I haven't seen Bobby Hall this year, so I am not in a position to comment on him.

Empty Spots for 16th Region Teams?
This year's schedule is tougher. They are going to Cocoa, playing in a tourney at Harrison Co., playing in a tourney at Paintsville, playing in a weekend tourney at Powell Co., they added a second game with Boyd, and play Lawrence and Greenup twice. The 62nd seeds so they have to play West and Elliott which are usually weak, and Morgan who should be pretty good. Their post-season struggles may be due partly to the fact that the last 3 seasons in the regional tourney they have faced Justin Moore, Brandon Williams, and then Justin Moore again.

Best Team In Your School's History
East Carter's best team is probably the 1984 State Championship team, they were also very good in '87 they lost in the regional finals and were undefeated in the 16th region until that game. The '99 team hit 94 home runs and was 32-8, and the 2006 team was 27-5 including 20-2 in the state of KY.

Update on East Carter and Bath Co.
Ejected in the last game I believe.

Update on East Carter and Bath Co.
Bath 68 East 57 Clemons and Metz combined for nearly 60 I would say. Those two can play, the rest of the team knows their roles, spread out and let the other two play. East didn't shoot the ball well at all, but credit Bath, they played pretty well defensively in what was a very physical game. Barnhill took a beating inside, while Joe Coldiron was talking to the cheerleaders. These two teams should make some noise in the weeks to come.

Pre-season 16th Region Baseball
Both games could have went either way. Two years ago they played two 1-run ballgames, and the year before that the same thing I think.

Pre-season 16th Region Baseball
The first game it was Eddie Seagraves for East and maybe Scaggs for Greenup. The second time it was Hieneman for GC and Ryan Knipp for East. East has all their pitching back from last season.

Empty Spots for 16th Region Teams?
True statement. East Carter beat Greenup twice last season, including Hieneman once, and they only lost 2 starters. They also beat Raceland the only time the two played. I believe Boyd, East, and Raceland can all beat Greenup on a given day. I am not sure about Ashland.

Class of 2010. Who are the best?
They have Dylan McDavid, a strong left handed hitter, Kyle Bair who throws the baseball with good velocity (mid 80's) and is also a big strong athlete, they also have Tommy Carper and Tanner Ashworth who are nice complimentary players. They have 4 outstanding prospects and 2 other very solid players in this group. I agree that Greenup has a good group of soph. too. East may start 5 of these sophomores this season.

Class of 2010. Who are the best?
Of course they are. I am sure the average temp. is a little higher in Greenup, the avg. income is higher, the unemployment rate is lower, the average lifespan is longer, etc..................You definitely wear green glasses.

Morgan County 64 West Carter 42
They will be the #2 seed I believe, either 2 or 3. They will play Elliott Co, East Carter is the #1 seed and they play West Carter the #4 seed.

East Carter 49 Russell 36

-
East Carter 75 Fleming Co. 43
East now 21-5.

62nd District Tournament
What other options are there in Sandy Hook? Maybe the frosty freeze for a nice meal, or surely someone is pickin' and grinnin' somewhere!!

Power hitters for the 16th
How is Barker's injury? Hope he is doing well.

Top Juniors--Class of 2009
I didn't say he was just a scorer, I said he was a good scorer. He is a good player, I just don't feel he is a Mr. Basketball type player. Any team would love to have a player like him in high school.

Top Juniors--Class of 2009
Hood should be the fav for Mr. Basketball going in. Ferguson is a good scorer, especially with the style of play Elliott runs with the lack of offensive sets and more running and gunning. Not sure he is a Mr. Basketball type player though.

What teams will be at Cocoa Expo and when?
It is their first trip to Cocoa. They have been to Ft.Walton Beach, Lakeland, and a few places in the Carolinas in the past.
