So what is Greenup Counties weakness?

 

What about Raceland?

 

What about Boyd County?

From what I have heard is that Raceland's weekness will be Pitching.

I am sure both teams will work it out though.

Raceland's weakness IS pitching. Good news is they have an excellent pitching coach in Drew Hall, so he may be able to find something there.

Can Josh Wilson step up and be the pitcher everyone expects him to?

 

Boyd's weakness is inexperience and injuries. They have a couple of key players hurt, not to mention some good players not even playing anymore. They will be very young this season.

 

Greenup Co. has a couple of holes to fill from last years team, but they have some good arms on the mound. Overall, they should be as strong or stronger than last year's team.

I think you are going to be surprised at some of the young talent in the 16th this season gcguard.

Greenup should be in the top 4 teams in the region also but, the many years I have watched baseball in the area I have seen some major upsets.

Confidence is a good thing up to a certain point.

I heard nobody was cut from gchs team. Wonder why the lack of boys trying out? I figured there would be alot of excitement since they went deep in the tourney last year.

True, but when you go to deep in the Tournament with Young underclassmen, then that also tells some of the new tryouts that there is no sense in trying out, because the young players already have their spots locked. Not a bad thing for the School, but not too many players wanna come out for a backup role.

 

At the same point you would think some of these kids would not mind being backups, just to get to experience a possible return trip to Applebees Park.:thumb:

 

BTW, from what I have heard all the top 16th Region teams had very low turnouts. I have been told that some of the schools had to pick up players that would had never made it on the team in years past.

Saying that Greenup will not have any competition this year is a bold statement gcguard. That attitude is usually the one that will get you beat in the long run. Boyd, Raceland, and Ashland are all very capable of beating G.C.. They have a good team but I wouldnt put them head and shoulders above anyone else in the region.

True statement. East Carter beat Greenup twice last season, including Hieneman once, and they only lost 2 starters. They also beat Raceland the only time the two played. I believe Boyd, East, and Raceland can all beat Greenup on a given day. I am not sure about Ashland.

Don’t ever count Ashland and Fairview out.

Both of these teams have a lot of returning players that may be ready.

East and Raceland have a very good shot. I think it will be a very surprising 16th this year.

What about Lewis Co? I think they have a bunch returning.

I personally think Greenup and Raceland are at the top and Boyd and East Carter and just a bit below them.
