Heard tickets were only available at the door. IMO, a set amount should have been sent to all schools for their teams games to purchase because we all know that many fans will be turned away at the door. While the auditorium thing isn't a horrible idea, you shouldn't have to watch your team on a tv, you should be able to sit in the stands. The teams that are participating in the game should be able to have their parents, fellow students, and rest of the community in the stands for their game. Anyways, it looks like it will be a great tourney, and a packed house every night.

Your idea was discussed, but not implemented. I saw the pros and cons on both sides. It is going to be packed and I doubt they turn anybody away. Wall to wall people! If that doesn't tickle your fancy, we will have all the games on the air and on the internet!

I meant to add ticket information:

Double header nights -- $7 adults and $5 students

Championship Nights -- $5 adults and $3 students

I could be wrong, but that sounds a little high to me.

No I haven't missed a district tourney in years, I will be there. 7 dollars is outrageous, but as long as I get to watch the games I don't care.

You are paying to see two varsity basketball games, which would probably cost around $10 if they were played on seperate nights.

I would rather pay each night and just have one game. Where will they put everyone, on the ceiling.?

That is a good point but many will still complain. I am personally in favor of the way that they set up the tournament. For the Carter County night on the district fightcard, folks from Grayson and Olive Hill will get to see both of their teams at the discounted rate of $7.00 per ticket plus only one trip to Sandy Hook. Had they done it in two nights it would have been $10.00 for the tickets and probably $15-$20 more on gas. Besides, I went to most of the East West games this year and if they don't draw any better in the tourny than they did in the regular season everyone should fit in just fine. I'm hoping the good folks from Elliott County don't want to pay $7.00 to watch East and West...that would help out a bundle.

No guarantee for the folks from West Liberty though...better get there early and hope the fire marshall has skipped town for the week!

I personally think the main reason for the larger ticket price is that the gym at Elliott Co holds so much less than other gyms. They can only fit so many in there. It all boils down to money folks!!! Some of the schools need to have a good district tourney pay check to have the things they need to keep the program going.

First National Bank Sandy Hook Branch may need to stay open a little later that week in case some families need to take out a loan to buy tickets,

I don't know what all the hoopla is about. Is $7 really that expensive for two District tourney games? I went to a high school football last season that costed me $10 to get in. And that was to one game.

$7 is not too bad if you look at it like you are getting 2 games for 1 price, but there are also families that will be going to this, so multiply the ticket price accordingly. How many does Elliott change actually hold?
