$7 is not too bad if you look at it like you are getting 2 games for 1 price, but there are also families that will be going to this, so multiply the ticket price accordingly. How many does Elliott change actually hold?

The sign on the wall says 1150. But that would only be possible if there were 1150 2nd graders in the gym. 800 would be a very full gym.

THanks for having these game on the internet,,,will be listening from the ugly, cold State of Illinois.

Thanks mpspencer63. I have been to Illinois, it is not THAT ugly!

It is not the ticket price , I just want our regular seats. Please!

That might be hard to do. Better get there EARLY!!!!!!

What is stopping some team from sending all there fans real early and taking all/most of the seats?

NOTHING!!!! The doors are scheduled to open 1 1/2 hours before the game. I suspect there might be a line forming around Noon. School buses may have a hard time getting kids home on time. I feel sorry for the fan that has a 9-5 and can't get there until 6pm or so!

Elliott Co officials did say they were going to have a closed circuit TV feed into their auditorium that was said to hold about 350 people.

I do want to clarify an earlier post of mine. In saying 800 fans could get in the gym. The gym can hold more than that, but I was saying that with bands and pass list members, there would only be about 800 seats available for paying fans. I suspect the 1150 capacity might be accurate for standing room only. But with bands, pass list members, etc. I wouldn't think more than 800 paying customers would have a seat.

Elliott Co. has a beautiful state of the art performing arts center and the gesture to have closed circuit TV will be nice...however, I just don't see fans wanting to drive to Sandy Hook to pay $7 to watch TV in a room...most people will want to cram in the gym so they can yell and cheer their teams.

If they will carry popcorn in there and have cushioned seats, I will be tempted broadcast from there and sell my seat!! HAHAHAHAHAHA

I would say there will be a huge line......which is sad. Tourney needs to be in a larger gym, but it's not. As for no early release of tickets, which AD (East/West/Morgan) voted that down??? There are no pros to not selling tickets in advance to these games other than limiting the number of tickets available to these 3 schools. Sending even 200 tickets to each school for THEIR game(S) would have been so much better, because of the people who do work 9-5's, the people who are unable to stand in line IN THE COLD for 6 hours, the STUDENTS who will (should) be in SCHOOL, and the parents who have to transport their players and cheerleaders to catch the bus to the games. I would say 800 tickets remaining sounds about right. 800 tickets for a district tournament in which:

1. 3 of the top 7 or 8 teams in the region play in

2. Both first round games are rivalry games and will draw good crowds from their schools, and i would say their will be a good sized Sandy Hook crowd on all nights.

3. The championship game will be a huge draw

Personally it's not a matter of if the should have the game there, even though it's a small gym. That is Elliott's choice. The problem is this is the last time 2 of these teams will play this season and all 4 teams do have senior players, so their fans should get to watch them if they wish and not get turned away at the door or sent to an auditorium. An auditorium????

So i guess i'll be bringin my lawn chair and cooler. I think that East and West will have a larger crowd for these games, West Carters crowd has been growing more of late, although it pairs in comparison to the number of fans Elliott can and will bring to their games. I would hate the see the line of people waiting on EC vs. Morgan COunty, and the district championship, especially if the Lions are in both. That said it will be a great tourney and alot of fun. Bring your ear plugs, that gym is gonna be loud.

Morgan Co. was in favor of doing a girls double header on Monday (split session) with single boys games on Tue/Wed. Girls championship on Thursday and Boys Championship on Friday.

Having 1 night of DH is better than having 2 nights of DH with over-flow crowd.

Get there early is the best advice. It should still be a great atmosphere and fun all around.

Another piece of advice...wear short sleeves...I majorly over-dressed back in the regular season and swore I saw pink elephants flying it was so hot. It's going to hot, wild, and a whole lot of fun.:dancingpa

If I am not mistaken the "closed circuit t.v." will be on an 18 foot screen (with audio). It won't be too bad for me to watch the games from there. That way the parents, students, and friends of the seniors can watch in the gym. Not a big deal for my $7.00

Small school, small gym. I'm sure East and West Carter would love to alternate every year. I say that mainly because they have complained as much. My advice would be, sell out your gyms every night and maybe someone will take notice..... 500 fans for the battle of Carter county says it all. Don't begrudge Elliott and Morgan because they have smaller gyms. At least they have in their sparsely populated counties loyal fans who will come and watch them play!!

Im sorry but there were more than 500 people at the Battle of Carter County...there wasnt as many people this year because they knew how lopsided of a win it was going to be for the boys from the East side....Ive been watching Elliott play for about 10 years now and they just recently started to obtain loyal fans

Well, I've been watching Elliott for about 20 years and they have never had any problem selling their side out for home ball games. Have their fans always traveled as well as they have in the last few years? No. As far as East and West complaining about the size of the gym...........My advice would be just bring their normal size home crowds, and room will not be an issue.
