Lightning

Is this the first district championship for JC in baseball?

Only one team from the 15th. 4 from the 14th. Not very balanced.

I have heard this same thing today.

Who was the offer to?

I agree with this 100%. Most coaches actually go in the hole from coaching.

This is awesome. I think more radio stations should take an interest in HS baseball and softball. Football and basketball get a lot of air time, time to give some to the boys/girls of the diamond.

Any details on this game?

Congrats and Good luck to "Jake". Fine young man who should do well at the college level, academic and athletically.

I don't know when, but Justin Rice from Buckhorn is going to sign with Berea.

I understand that the coach cannot vote, but that doesn't mean that the other coaches can't vote for the players off of those teams. Especially on a preseason all 14th Region team. Don't get me wrong this is still a good list of very good ball players.

It is a good list, but I would put Jeremy Hyden from Buckhorn as one of the top pitchers in the region. Justin Rice is a good utility player as well. Can play almost any position.

I would like to know. I haven't heard anyone say. I know Clark Stepp was the MVP.

Who all made the 14th Region All Tournament team?

Both are playing good basketball right now. I really think these are the two best teams in the region at this time. It all depends on who is hitting early. I think it will go down to the wire with JBS winning by 3.

Buckhorn's effort kept them in the game. Missed opportunities at the free throw line killed them. I think at times, Buckhorn gave Breathitt fits with their defense. Hollan was great. Very good player. Buckhorn had a great sesaon with nothing to hang their head over. John Noble has done a great job with this program. Buckhorn will really miss their only senior Justin Rice. He always gave 110% when on the floor. These two teams will be in the mix for the next few years.

Hard to say there is too much wrong right now. They are playing in the semi fianls of the region after beating one of the favorites to win the region in JBS. Sure, they struggled some during the season, but they showed signs of a good team all season long. They are just getting it together at the right time.

Both teams are very good, but I will have to go with Breathitt in this one. They completely took Buckhorn out of their game, and I haven't seen that happen much this season. Breathitt by 7.

What kind of parking does LCC have? Do I have to worry about getting blocked in by the crowd from the second game.

To me, this is the best first round game and it will be a battle. True, Buckhorn has little depth, but the ones on the floor is used to it and can play almost an entire game. They do have a couple of players who can come in and help. I think Buckhorn will come out on top in this one by 5.

Owsley is a scary team for Knott. Very possible for the upset in this one. I'll take Knott by 13.

I'll take Powell by 7. JBS isn't the same JBS as the team playing before the all a.

1. Hazard 2. Breathitt 3. Buckhorn 4. Powell 5. JBS 6. Knott 7. Owsley 8. Wolfe

I think the Buckhorn/Breathitt will be the best game in the region. Two similar teams who like to win on the inside, but can hurt you on the outside. The Powell/JBS game could be a great one as well, depending on which teams show up.

After watching Hicks play last night, I would have to give him the nod. The kid can play. Hazard goes as he goes.

I think Buckhorn had everything to do with how PCC played. Buckhorn beat PCC in every aspect of the game. Including; Coaching.
