I don't agree that they are more skilled than NL, they have a really fast dual threat QB but NL's QB probably has just as many rushing yards as Amis this season considering the amount of times Amis is asked to run it. Besides you can throw the HC/NL game out of the equation, the game conditions were less than desirable for any skilled team.

They had Hooker in the NL game and only managed 8 points. The QB there now is still very good and they have a really stingy linebacking core.

This could also be NL a #1 seed and HC a #2 seed if NL wins out, HC wins and PC beats WC. That would offer up a 3 way tie and NL wins the tiebreaker with HC getting 2nd and Perry Central 3rd and Letcher Central 4th, with Whitley and Clay County missing the playoffs.

If Clay County beats Letcher Central and Whitley County beats North Laurel. 4th places will come down to the winner of the LCC vs. NL game at Letcher. If NL beats both, they will be #2 and Harlan County #1 assuming they beat PCC. All 6 teams are still in it but every team is banking on another teams performance for where they will end up.

I've never known this to happen playing the same team twice in the regular season.

I agree, and Middlesboro was a much better team last year than this year's version on Knott County Central. It takes much more than one game to solidify yourself as a Mr. Football Candidate and not against a 1-7 team. I know Watkins is a great player though, I'd just be interested to see his game by game stats against each opponent to judge him for Mr. Football. Does anyone have that?

I listened the whole game. Fritts scored the last TD for the varsity with about 23 seconds left in the 3rd quarter that made it 73-35; then the clock ran up 39 points. Watkins was in at the same also but came out after that score. The JV/Freshmen scored the remaining last two touchdowns.

Corbin is out for 2 weeks, because of Fall break. Harlan County is also out this week.

A blocked punt in the endzone really hurt the Jaguars tonight. Other than that they played a really good game. The defense only gave up 14 points to one of the states leading scoring teams and North Laurel dropped a TD pass (PC had a great hit on the play to make him drop it) and three other TD's that were overthrown by a football length, all part of the game. Both teams were about as even as you could get tonight but the special teams (blocked punt) made a huge difference. PC is a really good team.

For most teams I agree, however, Corbin isn't most teams. They field a good number of players and they play 5A North Laurel and South Laurel and won.

I agree, the people outside Harlan County just don't realize I suppose. Great win! Maybe this will calm down the notions of Harlan County not winning another game because that was just laughable.

Lets keep in mind that all schools haven't reported so it isn't officially accurate, but pretty close.

I agree.:thumb: There is no reason that team isn't winning more. Too many athletes to not beat or at least be real competitive with their schedule.

I may be old school but how many teams have 3 off days? Surely PC doesn't take Monday's off, if true then it would explain some things IMO.

District game, it will have to be played or else someone has to forfeit.
