First win of the season for the big blue and they're now 1-0 in the district, winning convincingly at Madisonville this evening.

Lone Oak almost pulled out a miracle because Webster's quarterback fumbled a kneel down with 38 seconds left in the game. Lone Oak drove deep into Trojan territory but Webster holds for the five point victory. This puts a big, big dent in Lone Oak's season!

The Marshals improve to 7-0 and cruise in their homecoming game against the Trojans. The good news for MC is that there were no injuries tonight as they prepare for their brutal three game stretch.

I do this every year and everyone seems to enjoy viewing this list. With the college games kicking off soon, I feel like we should recognize these players who gave us all something to their respective high schools and cities. This is my own independent research so I do apologize if I've left off anyone or misspelled something.

Please give Graves County credit. They're one of the most prepared and hardest working teams in the state. Do you realize they were in their motel watching game film at 11:00PM? They take pride in knowing what the other team runs and tries dilligently to stop their butts! They've given up 27 and 45 points in their two sweet sixteen games, and the largest amount of points they've given up in the postseason is 47 to St. Mary. On top of their hardnosed defense, they have so many plays in their playbook that it's ridiculous. The amount of knowledge and the time put in is enormous for high school kids. Their job isn't to entertain the fans in the crowd but to win ballgames and thusfar, they've succeeded.

All I know is that if the favorites advance, Friday night's semifinals has the potential to be one of the most exciting 1st region tournament games in years. The RSEC will definitely be filled to the brim with tons of fans and excitement. Gotta love this time of year!

Has to be the crew from Marshall County. They do an excellent job not just calling the action, but their preparation for pre-game and outstanding interviews after the game is what really puts them over the top.

I think Marshall County is the slight favorite right now and the three others that you mentioned are slightly behind the Marshals. I will say that the region is much, much stronger than in the recent past. Anytime there's a player like Ard, one of the best in the state in my opinion, I would give them a slight advantage. Also, during the Paducah Tilghman debacle, coace Gillespie benched his starters in the 4th quarter and benched all but one the next game against Calloway. That seemed to have given them a wakeup call because they've been on a nice little run ever since. I would say Graves County next because they've had some solid wins as well. Losing their point guard, Johnson, for the entire season has hurt their chances to do some damage at state. But Sims has played that position before and they still have a great shot at winning the region. The real question is will Cavette behave for the rest of the season? His trouble in the past and during this current season has been noted and made well aware of in this area. Paducah Tilghman seems to get on a nice little roll and then has some troubling losses that makes you scratch your head. They definitely have some athletes and can, and have, get up for big games. The question is can they put together a stretch to win the regional championship. Heath has a nice record and should do fairly well in the upcoming All A Classic, but their "soft" schedule is a concern. They don't really have a bigtime win, have lost to Tilghman once and face them again in the regular season, and face Marshall County on Valentine's Day.

Graves County defeated North Broward by 25 points last month in their own backyard. Are you saying that Graves is 60 points better than any team in the 15th region?
