Lone Oak almost pulled out a miracle because Webster's quarterback fumbled a kneel down with 38 seconds left in the game. Lone Oak drove deep into Trojan territory but Webster holds for the five point victory. This puts a big, big dent in Lone Oak's season!

I had just about written off Webster. Thought this would be a big (lopsided) win for Lone Oak.

 

Congrats to Webster. Tied with Caldwell for first place in the district.:thumb:

Coaches kept talking about how Webster would be a team to watch this year because of what their linemen were doing at summer camps. While they have played a soft schedule, they are showing they can score points in bunches. They just can't give up many when they get into the meat of the district schedule. They have Trigg, Caldwell, and Fort Campbell the next three weeks. We'll see if they are for real or not.

Lone Oak had six turnovers, including four interceptions. Webster County had five turnovers themselves.

 

The race for the 3-4 seeds in the district just got a little crazy.
