I can't speak on Coach Cravens team this year, because I only saw one game. But I know that Coach Simms teams played with heart and a focused game plan. There was a great sense of unity on his teams and they excelled in the big games.

I saw that Garrett Appleman scored the first 2 points for PC tonight.

The Breds have now lost 6 out of their last 8 with Frankfort and Montgomery County left before districts. The Titans improve to 17-6. The Thorobreds fall to 16-11.

I could see your point on home court advantage if HC had won distrcit or even went to region every year, but this isn't the case. Harrison is convenient because it is centrally located (NC to PC is almost an hour bus ride) and 1400 people is a lot more comfortable in a gym that seats 2500 than in a gym that seats 1500. Maybe the KHSAA can require gyms to have a certain capacity to host postseason games. I know in baseball a field must have lights to host region and if they want to host any postseason game their field has to be a certain distance in the outfield. They could do something similar for basketball.

Here is an interesting part in the Democrat this week. "All schools except Pendleton County recalled that the meeting for the draw last year in Nicholas County had an agreement that Harrison County was to be the host school. At the same time as this discussion was taking place, both Robertson and Pendleton County's representatives stated that they wanted to be put into the rotation to host both the boys' and girls' district tournaments. As site selection has to be a unanimous vote, Pendleton County held out to get its way or the site for this year's tournament would go to the KHSAA commissioner for a decision."

I would think it is more about comfort and convienence and less about survival. It will be interesting to see what the attendance wlll be this year and whether or not PC's gym would have been able to hold it. I am sure the figures we will receive are paid, but I will be curious to see what the total attendance is.

The proposal was made by the PC AD. In the presentation it was said that Harrison County would lose revenue...I am guessing that is why they voted it down. This was reported in the Cynthiana Democrat.

I wasn't able to make it down there so I listened to the guys on WCYN tonight. I can remember going to many games there in the past when you all were in the 10th. I always liked the setting for the baseball field.
