Still discussing other things...as soon as draw is announced, I'll post.

@PCCatNation: 38th District Tourney Pendleton v Harrison Monday Feb 18 girls 6:30 boys 8:00

WOW!!

So, 3 of the top 8 teams (according to latest BGP poll) will be staying at home for Region.

Yes. Nicholas or Robertson AND St. Pat or Bracken will be in the region. I'll keep my comments to myself.

I wont, this is ridiculous. Time to seed.

With no seeding it really makes the regular season meaningless. The days are over for no seeding. I understand some schools want the opportunity to play in the region to make some money. However, the best teams throughout district play during the season should be rewarded.

Well, I suppose we shall see if the past seven years of district success against Harrison will continue for the Wildcats. Pendleton is 5-2 in district play against Harrison since they have been together in the 38th. All but last year's tournament were at Harrison County. Can Coach Cravens and this Wildcats' team continue this trend?

My comments would go deeper than that, but I agree.

Also, it was decided that all 4 district teams will now host the 38th District Tournament. 2014 @ Pendleton, 2015 @ Robertson, 2016 at Nicholas, 2017 at Harrison. No problem with Nicholas and Harrison and haven't seen Robertson's new digs, BUT there is no way that PC's gym is capable of hosting. With two bands, cheerleaders, team passes... There won't be 700 available seats. It's my understanding that if there is an overflow crowd, those folks who don't get in will be allowed in the auxiliary gym where video will be available, along with live radio feed. Can't wait for that.

Where are they holding the tourney?

I assume it is at Harrison County. That's where the draw took place. The KHSAA site is not updated for this year so I'm not positive.

Could not agree withyou more. Terrible decision and I am from Pendleton. The tournaments should only be held at sites that can accommodate the crowds. Had to watch on video at a regional final at GRC many years ago when Ronnie Lyons played for Mason County.Was not a happy camper!

Everybody wants to host now. Since the new 38th was formed in 06, I can only recall the 06 tourney when the crowd was so packed folks had to be turned away, and that is when all 4 schools played on the same night. In order to put the tourney at Harrison or Nicholas, fans will have to come to the games, and have to be turned away. With so many college games on tv and so many other forms of entertainment at your fingertips the days of packed district tourneys are all but over.

As far as seeding goes, it will never happen in the 38th as long as the same 4 teams comprise it. Nicholas and Robertson will never vote to seed, the draw is their only chance 4 out of every 5 years to make the region
