  1. I sure hope Lloyd gives the Titans a good game! The starters need to have some competition so they can stay in the game longer. They sure have not been getting much playing time since the Newport game. They need more playing time to get ready for the playoffs!
  2. This will be senior night for the Titans. I believe the roster has 22 seniors listed. Go Titans! Win another one!
  3. Back to the thread- how does Western's defense match up with Mercer's defense? I know Mercer has a very experienced secondary (all seniors) with outstanding speed. Mercer's linebackers will flat out hit you. What does Western have?
  4. Let's just keep all the players healthy and both teams play with no injuries occuring. March on Titans!!!!!
  5. #81 should have to sit no matter what. Surely the coaches will make the decision to sit him. #81 is very important to the team. The team needs him. He has got to know that this type of behavior will only hurt the team during playoff time. I hope he has learned his lesson that only "cooler heads" prevail!!!!!!!
  6. How many bleachers does Newport have on the visitors side? Do us Titan fans need to bring our lawn chairs? We have been averaging about 3,000 fans per game (give or take a little).
  7. You are right! The real fans will show up tonight. I would sure like to know what football player has 30 or so more family members that want to show up and watch him play! That must really make him feel good!!!!!
  8. Whaa! Whaa! Whaa! Could everyone please stop whining and complaining about every little thing that happens at Mercer!!!?!!! Parents and family members should have the right to be able to sit in the bleachers and watch their sons/nephews/grandsons play on Friday nights before other people. That is a right the family members have earned from years of sacrificing by making sure the sons/nephews/grandsons are at practices and games, making sure that grades are made, working fundraisers, etc.! The sons/nephews/grandsons expect their family members to be in the bleachers watching them make the plays and not standing on the sidelines in a crowd of a thousand and not being able to see anything. Unfortunately, for this year, the bleachers do not sit very many (especially the crowds that have been following the Titans). But, don't criticize a family for wanting to make sure that they have a spot to watch their sons/nephews/grandsons play football! Reserved seating, along with season passes, should have been sold. It would have just been more money for the athletic department.
  9. I agree with you. I think the defense and offense need to remain together throughout the game, even when they are not on the playing field. I have noticed that Arnold, Edwards, Bee, and Smith seem to stay together when they are not out on defense. The rest of the defense needs to get with them too!
  10. Chris Lewis, Aaron Bee, Freeman Edwards, Hunter Robinson, Sam Blackburn are some that have been playing both ways in the last few games.
  11. I agree Cory Jackson can change an offensive game in a minute. But, even Cory will tell you.....if he didn't have his teammates blocking for him, he wouldn't be scoring so many touchdowns. Go blockers!!!!!!!!
  12. Mercer's offense was lacking tonight due to the fact that Boyle County's defense was shutting them down at times. Brandon Ford was almost non-existent tonight. Boyle Co. had a great plan to shut him out. I think he only had 30 something yards rushing. The great thing about Mercer is that they have 3 other outstanding backs - Donald Walker, Cory Jackson, and Nathan Griffith. Thanks to the focus on Ford, that left Jackson open at times and able to reach the outside corner. He scored 3 TD's. Mercer has to got to develop a passing game. Receivers were dropping way too many balls that should have been caught! Defense was great! Rashad Buster and Demarkus Masterson were all over the field all night. Daryl Smith had a great defensive game, as did Freeman Edwards. Fumbles were caused and interceptions were made! Way to go defense!!!!!!:dancingpa
  13. Other Mercer Titans to watch out for are Rashad Buster, DeMarkus Masterson, Freeman Edwards, Chase Wofford, Blake Arnold, Aaron Bee.... and the list could go on and on and on and on.........
  14. Mercer Titans travel to Garrard County this coming week. Predictions or thoughts?
  15. Why such negative thoughts? Let these boys enjoy their time playing football this season! Let the boys prove what they can do on the playing field. The "Titantown" community is behind them and pulling for them. What kind of town would we be if we didn't want the best for these boys? Come on to the Boyle/Mercer game - it will definitely be exciting!!!!
  16. Correction - Mercer had 21 seniors - one quit yesterday (don't know why). Now they have 20.
  17. I do know that Harrodsburg High School received some kind of grant last year that allowed them to receive improvements to the football field. I am just not sure what was done - but in June, there some kind of rubber material added to the soil.
  18. Just wait until Donald Walker is back!!! This will give the Titans 3 senior running backs and will allow Junior Nathan Griffith to stay in the rotation and get some touches too! Seems like all of the boys are working hard "together". Everytime they play the "Everywhere we go, people want to know......Who we are" song on the P.A. System - the crowd gets that much more excited!
  19. Do you know what the improvements to the Alvis Johnson Field were that were made this summer? Something about adding a rubber material in the soil?
  20. Check out Vaught's Views in the Advocate Messenger today: http://www.amnews.com. This is a good problem for Mercer County Titans to have.... where to put all the fans? There were at least 3,000 to 4,000 fans at the game this past weekend at Alvis Johnson Field vs. South Laurel. There will probably be more than double that amount when the Titans host the Rebels on September 15th. I hope the "powers that be" that are in charge, make the right decision and host the game at the Alvis Johnson Field. More bleacher seating on the home side, more area for people to place chairs/blankets, larger concession area, and more parking area. Let the team get ready at the sports complex (like they did this past weekend) and then bus them over to the game! We need the space!!!!!! Go Titans!!!!!!!
