You are exactly right, lbbc. Rondo allowed defenses to sag because they knew he wouldn't take (or hit) the jumper. If he wasn't driving, then he was a liability in a set offense.

I only watched until halftime, but UCLA looked like they deserved their top 10 ranking. UK better bring their best stuff tonight.

One thing I noticed last night was Tubby actually looked "happy" in the post game interview. I know he's in Maui, but I have not seen him that relaxed in a long time. On another note, the whole team looks much more cohesive this year. While the D was spotty at times, at least they seem to be communicating more than the last couple of years. Everyone out there looked like he was having fun--that has been missing the last several seasons.

The Cubs have signed two of the premier free agents on the market--Soriano and Ramirez. I have no doubt Hendry is going to sign at least one starter, maybe two. Plus Neal Cotts wants the chance to start. The Tribune Co. was scared out of their minds at the empty seats in August and September at Wrigley. They are either trying to actually win for once, or make the Cubs more valuable to sell. Either way the fans win and its a heck of a lot better than getting someone past their prime, which is the Cubs' usual m.o.
