  1. While I may not be fond of the "evil empire" I have found myself liking several of the Yankee players. I find it hard to hate Jeter, A Rod, Posada and Riviera. Also, Paul O'Neill is one of my favorite all-time MLB players.
  2. Cubs shut out the Braves last night 3-0 behind the stellar pitching of Rich Hill. There was also a couple of excellent defensive plays last night, one by Ramirez and another by Ronny Cedeno. Great game all around. Today the Cards come to town for a weekend series.
  3. He is playing insane right now! The real question is--why pitch to him last night? First base was open, for goodness sakes! Cleveland deserved to lose for that bone head move.
  4. I would say He was at the Holocaust and allowed Liviu Librescu to survive so years later he could save his students. The engineering professor blocked the classroom door with his body and gave his students time to escape through the windows before the shooter came and killed him.
  5. ^^Why would Ramirez and DeRosa be out tonight?
  6. The problem is, it didn't show his face, did it? I mean, anyone could claim to be the "angry dude in the Pat's jacket" and steal your thunder!
  7. I saw that on Baseball Tonight on Monday night, I think. What a weirdo! Why would you throw a $3 pizza slice on somebody? On BT, Kruk was not happy that somebody wasted a good piece of pizza!
  8. Hey, Rocket--Pie has played pretty good today! Did you see that throw from center to nail Branyan at home in the 10th? Wow!:scared:
  9. Pie has been called up to play CF and leadoff! http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/cs-070417cubspie,1,327940.story?coll=cs-home-headlines
  10. Wright has said for several years that he is a one and done. I would be stunned if he returned.
  11. ^^He's supposed to have an MRI today, but is listed as day to day. Ronny Santo said on the radio last night it was good news that it was day to day, because many times hammys put you straight on the 15 day DL. Soriano said he hoped to be back in 5-7. I wonder if they will call up Pie? I doubt it, but it's a possibility.
  12. It looked like it was absolutely miserably cold and it sounded like there were a lot of Cubs fans--which surprised me for the second game of the season. Mickey Morandini--"The Dandy Little Glove Man" I haven't heard his name in a few years!
  13. :thumb: I'm 34 and I'm sure the Cubs have added more than a few years to my relatively young life. I started watching around '86, and have had my poor heart broken more than once by the North Siders!
  14. Come on HC, it's only April 4! You've got to try and block the memory that was last year. After all, starting pitcher Lilly got past the 5th inning, which seemed to rarely occur in 2006!
  15. :thumb: It's been a huge improvement over last year! I used to hate to watch Cubs' games on Fox Ohio.
  16. Like I said earlier, does anyone know Walter Yeager? It looks like he might be the plane's owner.
  17. Notice the Ident number "N1UK" and it says Walter D. Yeager. Anybody know Walter?
  18.   I'm pretty sure we have just insulted pimps the world over...
  19. I really didn't notice Digger was more loudly dressed than usual. I've always suspected he likes to shop at "Pimps R' Us".
  20. Isn't anyone going to comment about Scribe watching TLC???? :p
