  1. My reaction would have been to kiss my husband and children because I would be sure the world would be ending!:jump:
  2. Aw shucks. I was hoping to see Ronny Cedeno playing second again...
  3. If there is anyone on this site whose word is usually on the money, then its LABS. I have not read where LABS thinks its a smart idea, just that it might be happening. What a case of shooting the messenger!
  4. His huge upside is he has several pitches that he can throw for a strike, at any time in the count. If the Red Sox want to give up that much for just a chance at landing him, then more power to them. There is a lot of reported uncertainity with the amount of pitches he has had the last several years. He could be one of the best ever, or he could be a huge bust. The winners in the whole deal are the Saibu Lions!
  5. Way to go, Rockets!!!:dancingpa :dancingpa :dancingpa Thanks for the updates, statman!:thumb:
  6. Paul McGuire gets on my last nerve. He's the master of the obvious. As far as MNF goes, while I like TK, I don't like the combination of the three. Its almost like he's there to provide comic relief, while Mike and Joe are supposed to analyze the game.
  7. I said out loud "he's gone!" I thought for sure he was.
  8. Rutgers looked like they rushed 15 men from the line of scrimmage the whole second half. That D is for real! You hate to think one play could ruin a season, but that offsides pretty much did.
  9. Thank you. Most of the time I disagree with you, GT, but I always respect you. Your comment about Coach Larkey was way off base. Tom Larkey is an awesome coach and an even better man. I have not talked to him personally but I'm sure his heart is broken for Brad Durham. Here is my problem with the whole deal. While Rockcastle puts a good football team on the field each year, its not a hotbed of D1 talent. To those of you in larger cities, quite respectfully you do not know what you are talking about. To the people of Rockcastle, its not "just business" its a betrayal. The whole county was/is so proud of Brad Durham for his skills and his ability to play on the next level. As 3w stated, there's a huge UL billboard inside the county, and I can assure you that is not a common occurence! I've seen people wearing UL shirts and hats and while I know some are just fans, I would bet most are new-fans because of Brad. People are proud one of their own is good enough to wear the Cardinal red. Now that has been yanked and for what? If he was good enough in August, then he should be good enough in November. Yes, I'm a UK grad, but I was already preparing to cheer for Brad and UL next season. This is a life-altering event for Brad and I, for one, hope he makes Petrino regret his decision.
  10. I'm really not sure, he made a couple of faces and said some stuff. It was during a filler segment, but it didn't look like Favre to me.
  11. I'm not saying that he was trying harder this week, but TO looked downright giddy on the field last night and I think that showed in his stats. The whole team looked much more cohesive. The verdict is still out on whether this game was a "honeymoon" game with Romo, or whether he's the real deal. BTW, did anyone catch Romo's impersonation of Brett Favre during one of the play stoppages? What the heck was that? Just show us the game--I could care less if he does a mean Brett Favre.
  12. The best thing that happened to the Cards was Izzy going down in September. Wainwright was dominating.
  13. After hearing Merril Hoge talk on the Dan Patrick show today about the long-lasting effects of his multiple concussions, then I think Tiki is being very smart. Take the money and run, Tiki! Go on and enjoy your life. I also would like to see the Giants win this year.
  14. If the Cubs made the WS, I would be prepared to pay at least $1500 for a ticket. I would probably only make it to one game, but I would definitely make financial sacrifices so I could see it live.
  15. I hear that! I pay for XM radio solely for the privilege of listening to Ron Santo and Pat Hughes call Cubs' home games! During the season, we are usually listening to a one game or another on the radio while in the car.
  16. Strike, have you been spying on my house? Even though we're in the Central Time Zone, my 9 year old has to go to bed every night around the 7th inning. All through the DS, CS, and the WS, we wake him up by telling him who won the night before!
  17. :thumb: Like I said, its only my humble opinion, but he is something special to watch. This UHA junior class is pretty impressive.
  18. Yes, in my opinion, he is that good. I'm not a relative and I have no stake in his abilities, just my observations. He is now listed as just under 6'7" (he had a big growth spurt) and can jump out of the gym. Hopson is also a long-armed guard/forward. My comparisons to Wright are just based on my personal observations. As I said, I have watched them both play (Wright more than Hopson) and at this point, beginning the junior season, I think Hopson is every bit the player Wright was. Obviously head to head comparisons are impossible, but I am referring to the take-over-a-game ability that I've seen from Hopson. According to the Hopkinsville newspaper, Hopson is ranked the No.10 junior in the country by Rivals and is the number 1junior forward in the US. Apparently someone else has seen what I've seen.
  19. "Half the team wore T-shirts to cover up their bad bodies, and you know who you are, Patrick Sparks." Ouch!
  20. Did you see him this summer? His game has improved unbelievably over the last year. I'm not here to get in an argument, after all opinions are opinions. However, I've watched Wright at least 10 times over the past several years, and IMO Hopson is every bit the player Wright was at the same age. Hopson is not the same kid that played last winter at UHA.
  21. With his junior season about to start, I will be shocked if Scotty ends up at Miss State at the end of '08. He is going to explode in the national spotlight, way more than he already is. I watched Brandon Wright on several occasions his junior and senior seasons, and the Hopson I saw play this summer is every bit as good as Wright. I know that is a strong statement, but Hopson is one of those kids who only comes along every once in a while. He really is special and I think he will be able to hand-pick wherever he wants to go.
