  1. Runs good routes, has good hands. Not afraid to go over the middle and make the catch. He is an asset to the team. :thumb::clap:
  2. Currently, Tight End.
  3. Yea soon, like tomorrow!
  4. Daniel Gold had a TD in the state game and the Johnson Central playoff game. He played a lot of 1st half DB & WR all season.
  5. I got that. But that is still my point. I don't think anybody walked away thinking Highlands was dominate in their victory over a lesser opponent. I think Holy Cross played better than it sounds like they have. (I admittedly have not seen HC previous to last night.) I still didn't see anything in the win for the Birds to take away as a negative.
  6. I am guessing that Eta was at the Holmes/Boone game, so I will answer. I think it is a good win. They beat a well coached opponent and didn't suffer any injuries that might hinder future wins. It was good preparation as they move into the districts. How would it not be good? Is is only a good win if you pummel an opponent?
  7. Stanford is an amazing place and if I was related to Austin I would have to encourage him to strongly consider it. Distance may have to be considered though due to his father's work obligations that have a requirement that he be in New York on Saturday evenings. Though it may be possible, that is a challenging schedule to keep up for 4 years. (If his dad would have been a marine maybe he could have handled it.)
  8. Buten, Hogue, Gold & Fennell. There will be others that will see a lot of time both ways.

  10. So I am guessing he doesn't make your All-America team. He makes mine, and way better than that he made Maxpreps Junior All-America team and for that Congrats to Austi-Boy!
  11. illegal is a strong word. The ultimate determination in the courts was that Highlands was in the right to play him. Also, there is further legal proceedings that will be filed to have the wins that Highlands had earned on the field in 2004 restored based on the courts findings that Highlands was within its right to play the player in question. How about the fact that the kid was denied his lawful right to play in a state championship game by a court system that determined after that fact he had a right to? I know that the Bell Cty folks feel very strongly that they were wrongly denied in the game in 04 and will never acknowledge that it was what it was, a tough loss in a good game that was legit but........
  12. By DMZ no doubt. It definitely is not descriptive of him after 4 years of the "Dale Mueller Body Sculpting Regime". It will be interesting to see what 1.5 years of the "Dale Mueller Body Sculpting Regime" will do for JJ.
  13. I don't think they had planned to play Lumpy both ways as much as they did. I didn't think he would see the defense side of the ball much at all. His performance on both sides of the ball made it difficult not to keep him in the game.
  14. I am sure LN will have a take on this........ I was told based on when he joined the team, moving in from Indiana and not getting eligibility because of the move until mid-season, there wasn't the opportunity to go back and get him up to speed on the blocking schemes of the offense. With him getting a full off-season to get up to SPEED on Highlands football (He reportedly has already lost 50lbs.) he should get all sorts of opportunities going into next season.
  15. Oustide: Roller Hogue Inside: Bankemper Alford Compton I don't see Sully or Beck moving back from the DL at this point.
  16. :ohbrother: I like the new Smiley faces.

  18. Mr Football for 2009: Absolutely in the conversation. Blinding Speed? Maybe, Maybe not. Those that have kicked it to him would probably say yes. Those that have thrown it to his side when he is on D would probably say the same. The kid has performed at an All-State level his Soph year on D. He has performed at an All State level on offense, defense & special teams his junior year, including by one organization at an All American level. If he continues to progress his senior year and has 3 years of All State/All American performance how could he not be in the discussion for Mr. football? He is a game-changer to the Nth degree. It will be interesting to see how Dale uses him on offense next year and how many touches he gets.
  19. What other 5A team/district would this not be true? Same for 6A outside of X & T's district.
  20. If that I happened (and I know it won't,,, at least anytime soon) Tom Spritzky would be the happiest guy in NKY Football.
  21. It wouldn't be the first time somebody wasn't strait forward to try to through the dogs off the scent. http://news.cincinnati.com/apps/pbcs.dll/section?category=blog06&plckController=Blog&plckScript=blogScript&plckElementId=blogDest&plckBlogPage=BlogViewPost&plckPostId=Blog%3ade3ab7e7-5e43-4e32-8612-155786b59a09Post%3aab37a14c-1393-4688-b17e-bd25288512d0&sid=sitelife.cincinnati.com Rumors have been circulating for months that former Moeller coach Bob Crable would be a candidate for the job if it became open. Gresh today talked to Crable, who said he isn't interested in becoming a head coach.
  22. Ryan Ernst wrote the Tom Groeschen spoke with Crable and reports that he isn't interested in being a head coach.
  23. The possibility or any of them playing is very low. However if they did, there are several that could make an impact.
  24. Please note Tom Groeschen has updated his blog to read: --Elder and Colerain appear probable and Highlands is a possibility, with opponents TBA. http://news.cincinnati.com/apps/pbcs.dll/section?category=blog06&plckController=Blog&plckScript=blogScript&plckElementId=blogDest&plckBlogPage=BlogViewPost&plckPostId=Blog%3ade3ab7e7-5e43-4e32-8612-155786b59a09Post%3a8b0b39f3-d393-4c38-91be-ff6839b535cd&sid=sitelife.cincinnati.com
  25. As posted by Tom Groeschen in the Enquirer's High School Sports Blog. http://news.cincinnati.com/apps/pbcs.dll/section?category=blog06&plckController=Blog&plckScript=blogScript&plckElementId=blogDest&plckBlogPage=BlogViewPost&plckPostId=Blog%3ade3ab7e7-5e43-4e32-8612-155786b59a09Post%3a8b0b39f3-d393-4c38-91be-ff6839b535cd&sid=sitelife.cincinnati.com There is nothing concrete just yet on the 2009 Kirk Herbstreit football event, other than organizers still planning to play the games on Labor Day weekend. A glance at the '09 event, gleaned via telephone conversation today with event matchmaker Jim Herbstreit (Kirk's father): --Elder, Colerain and Highlands are probable, with opponents TBA. St. Xavier and Moeller are probably out, with other scheduling commitments. St. Xavier is to play at Indianapolis Cathedral that weekend. Moeller that weekend begins a two-year, home and home deal with Hamilton. I thought Highlands schedule was set. Would this replace one of the Ryle games if it does happen?
