Not sure when they went to the H but a few years before the H-Wing they had just the head of the mean bird. Several BGPr's have use the mean bird avatar, it was just the head of that. Not sure of when Cov Cath made any of the changes but Cov Cath was waaaaaaaaay bigger than HHS.

The question on the pic is where's Fish #63? He was the noseguard. He may be just to the right of Cov Cath 50.

Here is the H-Wing from my helmet from 1982 The little Bluebird on the sleeve is awfully intimidating isn't it.

This was likely from the 13-7 OT Playoff game won by HHS. It was played ~ the first week of Nov. 1982. It was the first playoff game between HHS & Cov Cath For HHS #70 = Ted Abner #68 = Mark Dierig #50 = Tim Barth # 83 = Steve Beagle These are from memory because I am too lazy to look them up. I think they are right.

Highlands 41 Beechwood 10 (JV)
Tigers have a quality team, just too few players. Do they bring up any frosh?

Highlands 41 Beechwood 10 (JV)
He looked good. Beechwood moved the ball much better through the air than on the ground. #24 made had some nice catches. Another receiver made a phenomenal catch but bobbled it as he hit the ground. The ball never hit the ground but he was laying out of bounds when he established possession.

Highlands 41 Beechwood 10 (JV)
Beechies jump out to the early 7-0 lead but .......... Ty Seidel played QB and did well I apologize for those I forget but Gall, Gold, Seidel & Compton all scored. Justin Johnson was a beast on the D-Line Cam Dierig forced a pick that Nienaber returned for a TD. Carson had some good returns. Brian Beck had some de-cleaters (as usual) Kyle Welz had a nice catch. Good game for the Birds, both O & D lines looked tough.

Numbers do not add up for Ashland and Johnson Central
Let's see..... We played the number 8 team in the nation at the time in Colerain this year. We played the 4A State Champs in Lex Cath We will play the AAA Champs in Central next week. We played St. X in 04 or 05. We played Trinity in 2000. We scheduled HopTown when they were really playing well. Madison Central is one of the top rated 6A schools. Our Disctrict Schedule is what it is and CovCath is usually awesome (and plays as tough a schedule as anyone by-the-way)and they did beat HHS twice in O6. Should a tiny little public school with 1/4 to 1/3 of the enrollment play both T & X every year???

There are about 20 or so High Schools within 10 miles of Highlands. Highlands doesn't have that many players. The school has ~400 boys nowhere near 50% participate in football. Its usually around 20-30% of boys as Frosh and goes down from there each year. 95%+ of HHS football players grew up here, most are second or third generation players. Ft. Thomas isn't parachuting kids in from De La Salle on Friday's to win games. These kids work year round in a program for this. Most start in the Ft Thomas Junior Football League as third graders and and stay with it. BTW Highlands has played St. X & Trinity in the past and probably will from time to time in the future.

Pendleton vs Highlands who wins?
Here is a Link for the Community Recorder with a good scores comparison of the teams and who records: http://communitypress.cincinnati.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/C2/20081029/SPT02/810290355/ By James Weber "Against seven common opponents, Highlands has a 7-0-2 record and a 32-7 advantage in goals. Pendleton is 3-3-1 with an 18-15 edge."

St Xavier 35 Highlands 14 (JV)
70 + Players on the sidelines for X, impressive. #4 for X is going to really be something if he breaks a few bad habits.

Madison Central vs. Highlands predictions
I had to start this so Henry could calm down. A week without a varsity game was tough on her. Each team comes in with a loss, Highlands to Colerain and Madison Central bounces back after their loss to Scott Cty. with a nice victory over Shelby Cty. Can a mod add a poll? Thanks.
