Strictly based on my opinion. I looked at the state as a whole and tried to be considerate of current region alignments, but i tried to base it on logistics for all schools.

My thoughts and prayers are with Coach Hicks and his family. Tyler was a warrior! Played hard and all out all the time.

They are in the 11th as well.

The first column is what district they are in now. The 2nd column is my proposed realignment.

I do not know the location of all of the Louisville schools. When they redistricted the schools last year, that blew my old realignment apart. I just picked Shawnee to make the districts fit. Who would you put in there in instead?

I am not as familiar with that part of the state. That might need to be changed. However, that would make for a heck of a regional tournament.

I always thought it was strange that you have to go through Franklin County to get to Anderson County. I would think that the KHSAA would like this because could potentially get a Frankfort school into the State Tournament. This also sends Walton and Simon Kenton back to the 9th region.

The way the post looks makes it look like i had a 3 team district. I agree no 3 team districts, the only difference i had than yours is i had Shelby Valley and Phelps switched. Does your alignment fit better geographically?

I did a state wide realignment about 3 years ago. With the talk of the KHSAA doing the realignment i thought i would repost my realignment plan. I have made adjustments for Thomas Nelson, Collins, and Muhlenburg Co. which have opened recently. I tried to make the adjustments in the Louisville area that were made last year. I am not sure that my current Louisville alignment make sense. For the benefit of everyone, i will post the realignment 2 regions at a time. I would love to hear everyone's opinions! I love this topic! There are so many variables that come into play in making the decision to realign. Obviously travel cost for today's schools and ability to compete are important. A factor not to realign is TRADITION! I went through and realign the whole state about 3 years ago. When i get home tonight i am going to find that proposal and repost it. I think my alignment will be close to the state's if they have the guts to pull the trigger and do away with TRADITION!

I agree. As a former coach I use to get frustrated trying to beat Scott Co when they would get transfers. However I understood why kids wanted to play at Scott Co. Why wouldn't you? As a parent doesn't everybody want what is best for their kid?
