Omar Prewitt commits

Featured Replies

Prewitt has joined Lexington Catholic's Jack Whitman in committing to William and Mary.

Can't go wrong with a W&M education.

Congrats to Omar.

Congrats to Mr. Prewitt looking forward to seeing him play this season.

Congratulations young fella. Great school!

Thrilled for this young man and his family. I have been a Omar fan since I had seen him play years ago. Congrats Omar!!!!!!

Congratulations!

Congrats! W&M getting one fantastic player!

William and Mary completed a four-man class with this week's commitment and signing by Omar Prewitt, a 6-6 wing from Mount Sterling, Ky. Prewitt, an excellent shooter, chose the Tribe over Furman, Samford and Eastern Kentucky. "I just really liked the coaches and players," Prewitt said, "and it's a great school — the academics are excellent. They play my style of ball. I like to shoot the '3' and so do they."

Prewitt averaged 21 points and 10 rebounds per game last season at Montgomery County High, where he is the career leader in 3-pointers (265) and the second-leading scorer in school history (1,771 points).

Prewitt visited William and Mary in September the same weekend as fellow Tribe signee Mike Schlotman, with whom he became friends. Prewitt also is friends with W&M signee Jack Whitman, a 6-9 forward from nearby Lexington, Ky., who committed earlier this year.

"We talked and texted sometimes that it would be fun to play together," Prewitt said.
