Final from Boyd Co.

Simon Kenton 87 Ashland 85
There won't be many teams winning against Simon Kenton when Niece scores 42 points. I don't know his shooting percentage but I sure it was 70 plus percent. Congratulations on the win.

Boyd County 69 East Carter 59
East Carter ahead by one point, shot their self in the foot in this one when with 2:08 remaining in the game a foul was called against East. This was followed by two technical fouls against East Carter and a made basket by Boyd County. The end result was an eight point trip down the floor for Boyd County. Six made free throws and a made basket later a 59-58 lead for East Carter had become a 66-59 lead for Boyd County. East was unable to recover. Game over.

Highlands 86 Rowan County 54
Rowan County may have not been hitting on all cylinders after a heart breaking loss to Ashland Blazer in overtime two days ago.

Covington Catholic 71 Ashland Blazer 62
Marcum played less than 12 minutes total in the game before fouling out. I think he only play 2 and a half minutes in the first half.

Clay County 66 Boyle County 50
I think they have lost 2 games at home this season and I don't look for them to lose a third home game.

Nice win for Clay Co.

Covington Catholic 71 Ashland Blazer 62
I won't argue intent, strategy or flow of the game, I will simply stick to facts. Ashland Blazer has played two games in Northern Kentucky this season and shot 10 free throws and their opponents shot 55.

Covington Catholic 71 Ashland Blazer 62
I would agree completely with that statement. I would further posit that Ashland would very much like a rematch on a neutral state tournament floor.

I wasn't there, I listened to it online. Infur what you want but it's a very interesting stat.

Final from Covington Cath. Interesting statistic Covington Cath. shot 30 free throws hitting 26 and Ashland shot 2 hitting 1.

East Carter should get their first loss tonight. Boyd County should win by 15 or more.

Closer than I expected.

Ashland 68 Rowan County 66 OT
I couldn't agree more on Moore being the real deal. I thought that in the second half when Ashland's Porter was assigned to guard Moore that Porter did an excellent job of keeping Moore in check. I also saw the stats for that game and Porter was one rebound away from a triple double. 21 points on 9 of 14 shooting, 13 assists and 9 rebounds. Impressive for a six foot tall point guard against a good Rowan County team. The addition of Todd has made Rowan County a very dangerous team.

Ashland Blazer 81 Boyd County 59
Villers really went off in the 2nd quarter scoring 15 of his game high 27 points. I believe in the 2nd quarter that he led his team going 4 for 5 from the field, 3 for 3 from 3 point range and 4 for 4 from the foul line. Also in the 2nd quarter, I think the team hit 10 of 15 from the field while hitting 5 of their 7 three pointers. The Tomcats are really capable of putting points on the scoreboard when they get rolling.

North Laurel 98 Corbin 90
My thoughts too. I was wondering if there was any defense played. 188 points, that's a lot of points for two teams to score in a game.

The game was not as close as the final score would indicate.

Long trip for the Tomcats but it has the making of a good game.

Ashland 89 Robertson County 68
Sellars and Porter came out of the game with 34 seconds to go in the third quarter with the score 75 to 50. At that point the only starters remaining in the game were Villers and Carter. At 6:13 to go in the 4th quarter the remaining starters were taken out with the score 81 to 52. Impressive win for the Tomcats.
