  4. Ashland wins a running clock game in a semi-final game at Boyd County Middle School. Ashland will meet Boyd County in the 64th district final on Thursday night.
  5. Per the Ashland Daily Independent. The result of the blind draw was West Carter-#1 seed, Elliott County-#2 seed, East Carter-#3 seed and Morgan County got the #4 seed.
  6. Final score per the KHSAA scoreboard. From the 62nd District tournament being play at Morgan County. Not sure of the seeding due to the Covid altered schedules. But I would guess that Elliott County was the #4 seed with no regular season district wins and East Carter and West Carter tied for 1st with 2 wins and no loses each. They either shared the #1 seed or used a tie break method which I am not aware of. The Elliott County Lions are the #5 ranked team on the KHSAA website for Team Defense at 48.1 average points allowed through 15 regular season games. Congratulation Lions and good luck against West Carter in the 62nd district finals.
  7. I was in no way implying that Ashland should be #1 only that they were getting there and also showed how you go about beating North Laurel. But you still must have the players needed to execute the plan.
  8. You've just brought Ashland Blazer into the discussion. Ashland Blazer had North Laurel down by 29 points in the 4th quarter before the subs entered the game. Ashland has 4 loses to quality opponents on their home floors.
  9. I couldn't agree more with both of you. That's why I asked the question. This week definitely stirred things up.
  10. Who will be this weeks new #1 team? I'll be the first by saying it will be Covington Catholic.
  11. Final from Lexington Catholic.
  12. Last year with Hudson and Bradley, Ashland had a team with five starters who could when needed step up and score 20-25 points. If a defense attempted to shut down one or two of the five then Porter would put the ball in the hands of another player who picked up the scoring. You had to defend all five starters and Gillium could also put points on the board. And they were all good defenders. That chemistry is difficult to replace.
  13. Let's not forget that the score was 84-57 with 3:16 remaining in the 4th quarter when both coaches took their starters out.
  14. I believe that Ashland is scheduled to play Dunbar tomorrow. Per KHSAA.
  15. I think the key to this game was defense. Ashland kept Shepard under control and defended the rest of the team too.
  16. Ashland is very capable of making you regret not stopping them from shooting the 3.
  17. And he capable of a 25-30 point game too.
  18. Ashland 78 N Laurel 49 End of 3rd.
  19. Ashland 46 N. Laurel 27 At the half.
  20. Scoring by quarters. Ashland 23 20 15 19=77 Fleming Co. 13 9 11 19=52
  21. Final from Fleming County.
  22. Thanks you said it much better than I would have. I'm pretty sure I would have made a reference to sarcasm.
  23. A few stats. Incomplete. Ashland 14 23 18 12=67 Boyd Co. 20 15 15 7=57 Scoring Ashland: FG 23-38=61.1%, FT 12-15=80.0% Villers 26, Porter 22, Sellers 9, Ashby 6, Carter3, Marcum1 Boyd Co: FG 20-45=44.4% FT 11-14=78.6% Walter13, Newsome 11, Deboard 10 Webb 10, Gibbs 4
