Simon Kenton 2017 Schedule Brutal or Brilliant?
The year before last there was an internet rumor that somewhere in Louisville that there was going to be widespread violence in Louisville reminiscent of the movie The Purge. Because of that it was determined that it was unsafe for he SK team to travel to Louisville so the game was mover to SK the following morning. Nothing out of the ordinary happened in Louisville that night. I'm seeing talk of a zombie apocalypse in Louisville coinciding with that scrimmage. Probably be best of SK doesn't come. :scared:

Unless someone threatens to pass gas loudly that night in Louisville, then they'll stay home.

KLA Lacrosse Tournament
All the Kentucky teams used to play in the KLA however a few years ago there was a disagreement that led to a split. The Louisville area teams, perhaps in anticipation of lacrosse being sanctioned by the KHSAA, wanted to start running the league modeled after other KHSAA sports with districts and so on. Agreement couldn't be reached and the leagues split. There was talk of a "championship" game between the winners of the 2 leagues but that fell through. FWIW Trinity played several of the Lexington teams and beat most of them pretty soundly. Trinity beat Henry Clay 19-3 on May 2.

KHSAA Decision to Suspend 3A Track Meet
Question for the crowd, particularly someone who was there. Several parties have told me that when the 4 x 400 was delayed due to lightning the boys long jump continued and was completed and there was even a discussion if those points should be added to team totals. If this is true why wasn't long jump stopped? Male had 2 scorers in the long jump for 15 points. If true and had long jump stopped there would have been a different team winner.

Which offer would you accept? Stephen Herron edition.
You need to sit back and realistically determine where you have the best chance to meet your goals. A few years ago a 3 year All-State O-Tackle for Trinity signed to play for Urban Meyer at Florida. The same year the O-Tackle on the other side of the line went to Louisville as a preferred walk-on. Player 1 played very sparingly in his 4 years. Player 2 earned a scholarship after his freshman year, was a 3 year starter, drafted and played 3 years in the NFL. (SIDE NOTE: This was during the Kragthorp disaster at Louisville, so Louisville wasn't even close to being an offensive power) If your goal is the play in the NFL you have to first determine what are your chances to play at a college. If you're a good enough player the NFL will find you regardless of where you play, but that will only happen if you actually get playing time in college. Sometimes the big name school and coach isn't the right option.

Major upset in first round of districts ends Ballard's season.

Playoff structure question
And the year before that Trinity beat Male and X for the regional and traveled to Meade County for a semifinal romp. Travel is part of the championship process.
-
Playoff structure question
In order to win the region Simon Kenton would likely have already survived a trip to Louisville and a game with Trinity so this point is probably moot. But if they did that would be 2 weeks in a row that Simon Kenton had to travel outside the confines of their little fiefdom. How awful. If Trinity wins the same region and has to travel to McCracken County so be it. I've heard its a beautiful facility in a part of the state I've never been to. It's nice to see new places. It's time for some schools in this state to put their big boy pants on and stop whining about everything.

Playoff structure question
Assuming both are 1 seeds D4 Trinity would host D6 Simon Kenton in 2017. Below from the KHSAA handbook.

Doctors and football injuries
It's not just football, it's all sports injuries.

Playoff structure question
Then I apologize, mistaken identity. But if the first 2 rounds stay the same you get the same tired matchups annually. Quite frankly I don't care what they do in the other classifications, I can only speak to what I see Imuch prefer cross bracketing in 6A.
-
Playoff structure question
You call it nonsense, I call it trying to get some interest in early round games rather then watching the same yearly match-ups against teams you've likely already played during the regular season. The fact that the NKY 6A ADs all requested no cross distracting at that level doesn't have anything to do with your opinion does it?
-
Playoff structure question
You're going to have to explain that one because I would say the whole playoff system we have now with 6 champions was to pander to the non-private schools.

Major Ransomware Cyber Attack Underway Around the Globe

Simon Kenton 2017 Schedule Brutal or Brilliant?
Since SK's number one fan has taken such an interest in Trinity's upcoming schedule I dug this gem up. Can any rational person who has a single clue about football compare the 2 schedules and tell me who is playing the tougher schedule. I'll make this prediction, SK will finish the regular season with a better record then Trinity. That seems to be the gold standard there, regular season success, playoff flops.

2017 Trinity opener set with Carmel Greyhounds
It really must be awful to be you in this thread. You love to talk trash but the best you have when you come to Trinity is this. Bottom line is you're a trash talker who has absolutely nothing you can talk trash about regarding the best 6A (arguably overall) program in the state. When your favorite team has been forced (because they will never do it voluntarily) to play Trinity it has been UGLY so you go for this. Trinity's out of district games are Carmel, Warren Central, Moeller, Male and St. X. You DO NOT want to play mine's bigger over this. You'll lose.

2017 Trinity opener set with Carmel Greyhounds
You're precious. Fan of a 6A pretender that has NEVER played a legitimate schedule and has built what little reputation they have by accumulating wins over schools in lower classifications running smack on the best program in the state with arguably the toughest schedule in the state. Trinity won't travel more then 4 hours for a game. Simon Kenton won't schedule a team that won more then 4 games the previous year. And by the way the next time SK scores on Trinity will be the first time SK scores on Trinity.

A fan of Simon Kenton questioning Trinity's schedule. That's hilarious.

Obviously anytime anyone talks about "voluntary" workouts in the summer quotation marks should be used.
