Bourbon County Colonel senior linebacker Dalton Williams knows how to fly to the football and when he gets there, he knows how to finish. Over the Colonels’ 10 games, Dalton has recorded a total of 180 tackles (106 solo) and in doing so, he has surpassed the school-record mark of 167 that was set by another outstanding linebacker Dakota Mitchell back in 2012. The difference between Mitchell and Williams, Dakota numbers are from 14 games and Williams’ numbers are from 10 games. Against George Rogers Clark last Friday night, who rushed the ball 43 times, “DWillie” had 28 total tackles (14 solo), breaking his previous record of 24 total hits that he set earlier this season against Rowan County. For his career, Dalton’s been in on a total of 501 tackles, leaving him 20 tackles shy of Mitchell’s school-record of 521. Could he get there Friday night against Greenup County … yes!!! When the All-State teams come out, this kids’ name needs to be mentioned somewhere, because he’s that good! Keep bringing them down Dalton! :eek:

I agree with everything and great job breaking it down but when it comes to strength of schedule, I really don't see much of a difference. Beechwood, which Ludlow had to play because of them being in their district, makes the Panthers' schedule tougher but after that, there's really no difference. The teams played three common opponents in Carroll County, Bracken County and Bishop Brossart. Had Paris played Ludlow's schedule, then they too would've been 8-1! Although common opponents doesn't matter, because the game are won on the field, people do like to take a look at it! Ludlow beat Carroll County 56-39, Paris won 55-21 Ludlow beat Brossart 54-27, Paris won 62-14 Ludlow beat Bracken County 27-24, Paris won 34-14 Just my opinion!:isurrender:

Obviously, Paris must be doing something right ... because people are talking about them! Not getting a lot of respect and I truly understand why but that's why the game is played on the field and not on paper or social media sites. Beechwood is in another class and to beat them, a team must play a near perfect game ... however, I do believe the Hounds will have enough horses to compete with the other top teams in Class A ... I agree with Bac2369, Paris' road to the state finals will be brutal! #parispride

Matthew Barber, 16 rushes for 136 yards and 3 scores Eric Johnson ... 221 all purpose yards (140 receiving and 81 rushing) 2 TD's Aaron Maggard, 6 of 12 pass attempts, 195 yards and 2 TD's - rushed the ball 7 times for 52 yards Lavonte Sanford, 3 rushes for 30 yards and a TD Paris had 500 yards of total offense (305 on the ground) ... Brossart 148 total yards (132 of those yards were through the air and 59 of those yards came on their last touchdown when the game was well out of reach and 64 yards came on their opening drive of the evening when they took the 8-0 lead) after that, they only managed a total of 25 yards!

I like my chances when the ball is in the hands of Paris Greyhound senior receiver Eric "E" Johnson ... has the ability to turn a broken play into a huge play. He's dangerous in the open field and he knows how to run a "great" route. This basketball star, turn football star" is very explosive and once the ball gets in his hands ... watch out, because something special is about to happen!

It's Paris vs. Nicholas County... two long-time rivals ... I can remember back in 1981, when Nicholas traveled to Blanton Collier Stadium to face an undefeated and top ranked Paris Greyhound team that went on to win the state championship that season. When the dust settled on that night, the Hounds needed a late score by James Clark to pull out a tough 14-13 victory! You gotta love rivals ... always bringing something extra to the table. I'm not surprised at all from the score last night!

1A Playoffs Round 2: Paris vs. Fairview Predictions - 2015 Fairview almost suffered an upset loss in round 1 against Nicholas County. Now they get to face undefeated Paris in round 2. Paris got a first round bye due to Phelps dropping out of the playoffs. Will that week off hurt Paris in this game? Can Fairview get an upset win in this one despite their close call in round 1? Fairview is clearly the toughest opponent Paris has faced all year. Does that make Paris the underdog in this one despite their undefeated record? Phelps finished 0-10 that year and did not miss a regular season game but decided not to play in the playoffs. Phelps dropped out of district play that next season.

No, it was 2015 when Paris was scheduled to face Phelps in the opening round of the playoffs. The KHSAA notified Paris the week of that Phelps will not be playing. The Hounds wanted a forfeit win but the KHSAA said no. Paris and Berea wouldn't have played in the playoffs during the first round coming from the same district. The Hounds beat Berea during the regular season that year 59-7.

Paris had this same problem three years ago ... after having a bye-week during the last week of the regular season, the Greyhounds found out the week of the playoffs that Phelps was not going to play in the playoffs, leaving the Hounds with nearly 20 days of not playing football before they finally tangled with a tough Fairview team ... three weeks after playing their last football game. Maybe, the KHSAA needs to bring back 8-man football? Just a thought...:idunno:
