Who is the best Wide Receiver in 1A? Why are they the best?

Bryce Donnelly- 35 Receptions, 786 yards, 22.5 yards per catch, 11 TDs. He is one of the fastest players in 1A and will catch just about anything.

Seth Evers-Bellevue-fastest player in 1A, has missed time due to hand injury. Physical, versatile as a runner and returner also. Does not get enough touches.

Josh Lifson, Kentucky Country Day. 6 3 230, and a monster blocker as well...in fact he doesn't get a ton of throws his direction due to a balanced offense for KCD. One LCA coach was extremely flattering after the game in Louisville, calling Lifson the "best player we've faced up to this point."

Stats are ever so important. And there are a number of fabulous receivers in this class. But there's a reason he's been offered at two FBS programs(Appalachian State and AFA) and is an Air Force commit-- a tight end body and a wide receiver's athleticism.

I like my chances when the ball is in the hands of Paris Greyhound senior receiver Eric "E" Johnson ... has the ability to turn a broken play into a huge play. He's dangerous in the open field and he knows how to run a "great" route. This basketball star, turn football star" is very explosive and once the ball gets in his hands ... watch out, because something special is about to happen!

Just realized the thread was about the best Wide Receiver. Lifson's a TE, so probably shouldn't be in the discussion. He does plenty of wide-out work, but also plenty of time with his hand in the dirt.

If he catches passes in my opinion he is a wide out. I'm sure he lines up wide too.

There is a kid right across the river that plays for the Pekin Bandits. Pekin, Indiana.

So far this junior is being courted by several big schools. He is the best I have seen.

Frankfort's Dajuan Davis, phenomenal Athlete and running routes. I put him up with any kid in the state. Frankfort has tons of talent across the board at the WR position, but right now he sit at 4th in 1A for receiving and scoring.

I don't know how you wouldnt consider Lifson a WR? KCD runs the spread? Lifson is a MAN, he is big and physical, he looks like a college player out there now!

Im not sure stats are the best way to quantify a quality receiver, teams are so diverse in terms of offensive scheme. Im not sure you can compare a WR in a pass heavy offense with tons of catches/yards but fewer TDs to a kid who catches more TDs in a run heavy scheme.

In the east Bryson Parks is a great player for Hazard (19 catches, 321yds, 3 TDs)and should be in this conversation, he could be the best WR in the east along with Darrell White (53 catches, 656yds, 11 TDs)from WBurg. Also a big fan of the Allen bros from Paintsville James Allen(14 catches, 274yds, 3TDs) Chris Allen (9 catches, 142yds, 2TDs).

Definitely some talent in 1A!

Two good receivers meet this Friday as Paris Greyhounds host Bishop Brossart. Eric Johnson and Bryce Donnelly and their Teams square off in what could be a Pass Happy game.
