  1. There are plenty of big guys who will throw down at the drop of a hat and are crazy. What is your point?
  2. The 14-2 is very accurate, it may have been 15-2. From 90'-96' it was either 8-0 CCH, or 9-0 CCH. From 2000, until pre-last night it was 6-2 CCH. Not guessing at all my man. By the way, it is totally irrelevant, and I'm not even sure why we are still disputing this. Highlands is 1-0 against CCH this year, thats all that matters.
  3. Why stop in the 80's then? Go back to the 60's, and 70's, I'm pretty sure CCH was on the map. My point wasn't to debate who has been the best b-ball program since the beginning of time, I'm just giving the recent record.
  4. Did I ever dispute that it wasn't 6-6? I said in the last 8, it was 6-2 (now 6-3 obviously). Those other 4 wins were with Lorenzen and company, which I also stated. My point was if you factor out those 3 years that Lorenzen and the boys played varsity, I'm guessing from like 1990 until pre-tonight, it was something like 14-2 CCH.
  5. Free throws won the game for Highlands, 18-19. Take a hint CCH.
  6. I think you mean #2. Holmes is #1 until they are beaten.
  7. Birds finally beat CovCath. Should be a dogfight in March.
  8. I heard Ryle from one of the other 4A coaches as well. Needless to say the coach was not exactly thrilled. Ryle has plenty of talent to work with the next few years too.
  9. Maybe CCH should dress some of their football players to neutralize Highlands physical advantage. Maybe Sam Flynn, or Zach Spradlin will be in a uniform tonight.
  10. This kid wouldn't be eligible this year would he?
  11. Did I ever mention winning state titles? Did I not say cross-country was not one of CCH's superior sports? My point was if you had to choose ONE school from NKY who is considered the top dawg in most sports, it is CCH. You're kidding yourself if you don't agree. They are top 3 in all sports, no other school can claim that. They are top dawg in baseball, track, tennis, swimming, golf, and usually soccer. Throw in the fact they are top 3 in hoops, football, and CC. Do the math, thats 6 out of 9. Wasn't that my point- the top football school vs the top sports school? That was just my theory as to why despite Highlands owning CCH in football over the last decade, this remains such a great, intense rivalry.
  12. Its expected in one sport only-football. I assume thats what you mean.
  13. CCH won 49-40 according to the Colonel website.
  14. Highlands had basically a 3 year stretch when they won all those games against CCH. Smith, Lorenzen, Herald and company owned CovCath. But if you go back, from like 90'-96', I'm not sure if Highlands even beat CCH one time. And since the previously mentioned trio have graduated, its been all CCH again.
  15. Not to split hairs, but Ray beat Mueller 4 times, and the series is I guess then 14 out of the last 18 to Highlands. He beat them twice in 94', once in 97', and once in 01'. Has the fact that Highlands has had CCH's number the last 10 years diminished this rivalry? Maybe, but this is still the one game a year Highlands circles, so they obviously still see it as a great rivalry. I think in any sport when a team sees "CovCath" on their jersey, they think of it as "the game". CCH is probably the top program in NKY for all other sports except football, cross-country, and basketball. So the fact the dominant football school is playing the dominant sports school makes this a natural rivalry.
  16. I thought Npt. was suppose to be a sleeper this year.
  17. CCH will have senior-to-be Josh Bleser at QB. From I have heard of the kid, he would have started at most schools this past year. He is a big strong kid with a cannon.
  18. Give it a rest. The way CovCath has one-sided this rivalry the last few years, I'd say the Birds should be the ones worrying about that game.
  19. According to another thread, the kid who beat him out is Michigan St. bound. No shame in that, only 1 TE was chosen.
  20. Agreed. I think 1A will be NCC's for awhile. :thumb:
  21. Northern KY as a whole is as good as any in the state. Maybe not in 4A, but in the grand scheme of things NKY is in the upper echelon of KY.
  22. I haven't seen a thread about this, nor could I find the online link to it, but it was in the Cincy Enquirer yesterday. Congrats.
