  1. Any word on the JV score today between HHS and DH?
  2. Wow! Trinity just slapped around the defending Ohio Division I state champion (and national champion, per some 2007 polls), a team that has beaten a few "national powers" this year. Add this to the fact that they beat Cincy Elder a few years back, with Elder then going on to win state in Ohio, plus the fact that Trinity has recently been so dominant in Class 6A (old Class 4A) KY prep football, and everything adds up to Trinity being the clear-cut King of Bluegrass prep football, PERIOD! Congratulations to Trinity... the Trinity program most certainly deserves to be called a "national power." It's really amazing what's going on over there! PS It's awfully quiet about the Trinity-Cincy Saint X game over on yappi.com (an Ohio version of BGP)!!!!!!! I hope Ohioans like the taste of crow.
  3. I'm surprised that Henry Clay was a failed two-point conversion away from beating Cincinnati Lasalle. Lasalle spanked them last time they played. HC is really struggling this year, too! Also, I predicted (incorrectly, it seems) that Boyle County was going to beat Lafayette pretty badly, which didn't happen. And finally, Trinity handling Cincy St. X is a headline-grabber. As much as it pains me to write this since I have always considered my alma mater Highlands to be right there at the VERY tip-top of KY prep football... Trinity is UNDOUBTEDLY in its own class when it comes to prep football in this state, with programs like Louisville Saint X, Highlands and Male competing for a (VERY distant) second.
  4. Could someone please post how the scoring when by quarters and some HHS stats from the game? I didn't see anything written online on the Enquirer's website, and the box score to this game was conspicuously absent in the Winston-Salem (NC) Journal.
  5. For some reason, they don't show many Highlands games in North Carolina!!!!! Seriusly though, I rely heavily (and am very grateful) for LN and Henry521's posts and PM week to week, along with the insights provided by all the BGP HHS faithful!! The only point I was trying to make is that I would feel best if HHS entered the CovCath game with all the horses ready to run! I know that on paper it seems that CCH will struggle trying to stop the HHS offense, but we all know that strange things can happen in this rivalry! Go 'Birds!
  6. I say that because NO team (including Highlands) would ever want to face their arch nemesis without their TWO leading running backs!!!!!!! Am I way off base here or something?!?!?!?! Geez... it's CovCath guys... CovCath!!!!
  7. CovCath travels to Caketown to take on archrival Highlands Friday night. Both teams are coming off impressive district wins. Let's hear some talk!!!! I wonder if Josh Conner will be suiting up for this game??? It should be around now that he can resume playing, if the healing went according to plan. I have a feeling that this game will be a high-scoring affair. Highlands has not had to face a passing attack anywhere near as good as CCH possesses. Plus, CCH's defense has been pretty suspect and HHS' offense has looked good.
  8. Did Crawford get hurt in the game? Any word about whether he and/or Conner will be ready for next week against CCH? HHS will struggle next week if their two starting RBs are out!!!!!:scared:
  9. I am referring to paid and volunteer coaches. I would like to update this list on my HHS website, as the "current coaches" I have listed are from 2007 and the list of coaches may have changed.
  10. Could someone please post for me a COMPLETE listing of the current assistant coaches for Highlands football this year? If someone has a 2008 HHS program, I believe the full listing is in there. Thanks!
  11. Is it tonight (Wednesday) when the Highlands frosh take on Covington Holy Cross? Any word on this game?
  12. I have wondered about this as well. It seems that the whole purpose of the "running clock" is to speed the game along as fast as possible, since the outcome of the game has reached the point of no return, so to speak. Why not save everyone the trouble and just end the game right then? If people have problems with a team scoring after the running clock has be instituted, then why not just end the game when the score differential reaches a certain threshold? It seems to me that you should either have no "running clock" or "game shortening" rule and just play the whole game under typical game circumstances (no matter what the score is or how ugly it is) or set up a rule where the game automatically ends once the score differential reaches a certain point...
  13. Highlands wins handily, but with the CCH game next week I wonder if the 'Birds will be looking ahead a bit to the next week??? I wouldn't actually be surprised if the final score ends up being closer than most here are predicting. Clearly, Dixie is down this year.
  14. 5: Russell 3: Cincinnati Saint Xavier 3: Letcher County Central 1: Bell County 1: George Rogers Clark 1: Mayfield 1: Owensboro 1: Raceland 1: South Laurel 1: Ryle TB: 52 points
  15. I'm surprised by how down Lexington football is this year, especially 6A football but also it seems that LexCath is struggling more than I would have thought at this stage of the season.
  16. Anyone thinking that CovCath is only going to score 7 points against HHS probably needs to lay off the sauce. It seems clear that CCH's offense has shown steady improvement over the first three games... the team has all the elements in place OFFENSIVELY (solid QB play, a big, powerful offensive line, a quality RB and a talented group of receivers) to be a team of consequence this year. It does sound like the defense needs to get some things sorted out, though. Congrats to CCH for the big win.
  17. It seems that 6 of HHS' 10 TDs in the game came off of Holmes TOs. From the stats I saw, it sounds like HHS had a very nicely balanced offensive attack Friday night. Also, I'd like to give some much-deserved credit to Highlands' kicking game. It was VERY shaky in the preseason, but the 'Birds seem to be doing very well with kick-offs and XPs/FGs during the first three games of the regular season. I know that Adam Weinel is handling XPs/FGs (by the way, he was 7-for-7 with XPs Friday night)... is Rosenhagen doing the kick-offs? How has the punting game been? Is Hogue doing this?
  18. Yeah, yeah, yeah... you had to go and bring that up, didn't you!!!!!!! Anyway, congrats to both teams. Both JC and BS seem to be doing better than many people expected this year, it seems.
  19. Is it possible that Boyle County is the best team in 4A this year?
