  1. With Weinel out, who exactly is handling the kicking duties for Highlands? I thought it was Rosenhagen who was doing kick-offs and XPs, but I think that Head did the XPs this past Friday. Who is it? Who would do it for the JV team also?
  2. For me, I look at how the team was at the end of the postseason when these comparisons come up. So, I will think about (and judge) 2008 Highlands by how good the team is at the end of the year, and if Conner is playing for the team at that time, then he's included at the level of play he's operating at (be it 80% or 100% or whatever).
  3. 5: Ballard 3: Male 3: Owensboro 1: Boone County 1: Scott County 1: Anderson County 1: Calloway County 1: Harlan County 1: Mason County 1: Bryan Station TB: 45
  4. Why is the HHS JV team not playing Scott County, as previously scheduled? Also, what time is the HHS-Saint X JV game?
  5. One thing seems true... this year's team has had to deal with more adversity than last year's. It speaks a lot to the focus and strength of this year's team that the team can stay on track the way they have, despite losing arguably the team's best player (Conner) exactly ONE week before the start of the season, PLUS losing one of the team's best defensive linemen (Frank) for the first half of the season, PLUS not having the team's starting kicker (Weinel) for most of the year, PLUS not having the team's back-up running back (Crawford) for a few games, including the game against archrival CCH. And still, the 'Birds keep rolling!
  6. I think you'll hear a lot of Highlands BGP'ers say that everyone will need to wait to see how 2008 shakes out before making any definitive comparisons. The 2007 team I think had a lot more senior leadership, and more depth overall. It also seems that (with the exception of the Colerain game this year) Highlands' 2007 schedule was overall tougher than this year's schedule. Even though most of the opponents are the same, it appears that some of these opponents were better in 2007 than 2008 (such as LexCath, CovCath, Dixie and Louisville Central, although this last game has not yet been played this year). Madison Central appears better this year than last year, however. It should be an interesting test for the 'Birds. We'll know more by mid-December!!!!
  7. Has a non-crew person ever fired the cannon during a football game, or is that not allowed? Also, Happy Anniversary to Leatherneck and Henry521!
  8. I'm worried that some Highlands fans are reading too much into the margins of victory HHS has had this year. Given that (to date, at least) the level of competition Highlands has faced has not been all that great (the district is WAY down this season), it should be no surprise that Highlands has put up some crazy scores this season. I know LexCath had a bit of a rocky start to the season, but something tells me that LexCath is no Scott, Holmes, CovCath, Dixie, Ryle or Hopkinsville right now. Highlands will very likely win, but I wouldn't be surprised if things go back and forth between these two champions for a good part of the game. And while I agree with FTBIGBIRD2 that HHS blowouts are much better to watch than nail-biters, I do think that it would be good for Highlands to have one or two relatively close battles just before the postseason, to keep the competitive juices flowing strong and to keep the team grounded and not overly confident.
  9. 5: Henry Clay 3: Breathitt County 3: Boyle County 1: Bell County 1: Highlands 1: North Bullitt 1: Mayfield 1: South Laurel 1: Ryle 1: Daviess County TB: 55
  10. I totally agree. NKY 5A is down, and the competition will be stiff for CCH, Dixie and Holmes.
  11. Could someone please comment on how Highlands' XP kicking went? It seems that some of Highlands' TDs only led to six points... did the 'Birds have problems making XPs or were they trying a lot of 2-pt conversions which failed?
  12. This is precisely what I was thinking!!!!!!!!
  13. Any injuries in the game for Highlands?
  14. Is it true that there is no HHS JV game tomorrow?
  15. Did Conner score a TD or a two-pt conversion? How long did the first-stringers for HHS play?
  16. Any more information on the scoring for Highlands?
  17. I'm pretty sure that the Harbin system does not factor in margin of victory.
  18. Well, Highlands finishes the regular season with a perfect 4-0 district record and another regular season district title. Go 'Birds!
  19. Hey RR, any word on any HHS injuries in the game?
