  1. TD Highlands - Guidugli QB sneak. Miss XP - Highlands leads 41-14.
  2. Well, it seems that Hoptown has given Highlands some things to work on for defense for the season.
  3. It seems that Hoptown has had success moving the ball today.
  4. Way to keep it rolling, Ryle! I'm really impressed with where Ryle's football program has been heading these past few years. I think they're my second-favorite team.
  5. From the perspective of a Beechwood fan, this is a problem how?!?!?!? Man, I sure hope Highlands experiences this "problem" in Class 5A!!!!!
  6. I have no idea about whether this coach should or should not be the coach for CCH. However, I think a guy deserves more than two years to make his mark on a high school football program. Also, while it's true that CCH did win the state title (in 2006) the year before the current coach stepped in, it had been awhile since CCH had won their last state title before 2006. I think the coach deserves some time to get things going. Having said that, I think Coach Brossart owes it to the school, fans and the CCH football program to focus all efforts on matching up with the Bluebirds. I know that the games against Beechwood and Dixie mean a lot because of geographical reasons, and I also know that CCH prides itself in taking on (and hanging in well against) strong Catholic programs in Louisville and Ohio, but the CCH coaching staff needs to focus all attention on developing a team that can beat Highlands. If you want to beat Highlands, you need one thing in spades: SPEED. CovCath has often been known as a big, strong, and (frankly) slow team. That may help the Colonels match up against teams like Elder or Moeller, but it won't do well against Highlands. The coaching staff needs to eat, sleep, and breathe Highlands football. Frankly, I hope they never do!!!!!!!!!! Go 'Birds!
  7. I was really hoping that Colerain was going to go undefeated, win the Ohio D-I championship and finish the year with a national top-5 ranking... then I could say that Highlands hung in there with one of the nation's very best!!! I'd say that Colerain will have a tough time winning the state championship.
  8. I have a question for NKY football fans, and specifically Dixie Heights fans... Not too long ago Dixie Heights knocked Trinity out of the playoffs (in 2004, I believe). Also, DH defeated Highlands in the 2002 regular season. It just seems to me that for the past few years Dixie Heights has become more and more of a non-factor in football. And although they won tonight, often Dixie loses games that aren't even very close. Did Dixie just happen to have an unusually high level of talent in the early-mid 2000's, or has something else been going on that caused a bit of a downward drift for DH?
  9. How does this year's Beechwood team compare to recent Beechwood squads?
  10. Congrats to Dixie! Way to represent Class 5A, District 5. IMO, Dixie does have a very challenging schedule, especially relative to what kind of team Dixie has this year (a "down" year by recent DH standards).
  11. It's been a long, long time since Colerain lost a conference/district (whatever they call it in Ohio) game. Also, what's up with Cincy Saint X? Man, LaSalle barely beat a struggling Lexington Henry Clay this year. Wow! Elder = tops in Cincy football right now
  12. Congrats to Saint X. There's no doubt that the Tigers are at the top of KY football right now. We'll see how the playoff rematch between these two goes.
  13. Will this game be carried in North Carolina?
  14. If Highlands goes over to Hoptown and plays an all-around solid, minimal-mistake game, then I will be very impressed, since (as some other BGP'ers have said) HHS is coming off a huge win in their rivalry game, the game is way far away, and everybody seems to think that this will be an easy game. It will speak well for Highlands' focus and commitment if they go out there with full guns blazing!
  15. Wow... if this holds it's a NICE schedule! I really like the game against Manual, plus the Cincy Withrow game and Boone County being back on the schedule. Of course, the Beechwood game will generate a lot of NKY interest. The only negative I can see is that I'm not a big fan of HHS playing the same team (Ryle) twice in a season.
  16. Hey, I just read a recent Cincy Enquirer online prep sports chat transcript, and in it they mentioned that Coach Mueller confirmed that Colerain is NOT on the 2009 HHS schedule.
  17. 5: St. Xavier 3: Corbin 3: Campbell County 1: Anderson County 1: Bullitt East 1: Elizabethtown 1: Conner 1: Middlesboro 1: Bryan Station 1: Mayfield TB: 48
  18. I wouldn't be too sure about the east side yet. While I do agree that it would take a bit of a miracle for HHS not to advance out of their district/region, Johnson Central is playing very well and should not be overlooked.
  19. Is this for sure? The Withrow game should be interesting.
