Was that really targeting? From the angles I saw, there didn't appear to be any contact to the head or with the helmet.

Corbin has been very good against the deep pass all year, and the opponents have tried it too many times for their own good in my opinion. The difference is that Beechwood set Corbin up for the long throw very well and then executed it.

Championship teams don't make the mistakes and commit the penalties that Corbin did tonight. Corbin has a lot that needs to be cleaned up to be considered a true contender, but I imagine the coaching staff will have their full attention the next couple of weeks and will be working on getting it done. Coach Haddix scheduled these first 5 games so that weaknesses would be exposed before it's too late to do anything about them. Beechwood was the more disciplined team tonight and also the better team.

Beechwood wins the special teams game which leads to a 21-14 defeat of the Hounds.

I was dumbfounded by Alex putting up Kevin and Raven, although probably not as surprised as Christmas, Josh and Paul were. Surely she had to realize that the other 3 were the ones who lied to her and orchestrated getting Jason out of the house.:idunno:

The percentage of smokers in Eastern Ky compared to other areas would be the number 1 factor in my opinion.

He was young when he moved, prior to starting school. His mom worked for the Corbin Times Tribune and transferred to the Richmond paper. They lived in Richmond for a little while before moving to Stephenville. His Grandfather(Juder Stidham) owned a car dealership in Corbin and his Grandmother still lives in the area I believe.

Got to root for my Corbin connection in this one, he looks like he is going to be the real deal for Auburn at QB.

I expect that Beechwood will have more size than Corbin, although Corbin does play a lot of kids while pretty much 2 platooning. One of Corbin's offensive lineman, just switched positions a couple of weeks ago, started out the season as a LB & receiver. I doubt if they have more than 2 players that start on defense that weigh over 200 lbs.

It makes no sense to me either. It did give me an idea though. I believe that I am going to petition the KHSAA to see if they can make Belfry play on the road for all their playoff games. For some reason, it just seems fair to me, plus it's just too far to have to travel all the way to Pond Creek for the rest of us.

Florida got what they deserved after the coach and players ran their mouths prior to the game. Michigan was much too physical for the Gators.

Whichever team can score 21 points I believe will win this game, so obviously I expect a defensive battle that may well come down to special teams play and turnovers. There will be a lot of heavy hearts in Corbin this week after losing a recent Corbin grad in a shooting at WKU this weekend.

Alex may have just taken over the title as the worst player this year. How on earth could she believe that Jason and herself were completely safe this week.:idunno: Maybe Paul has hypnotic powers or something.:lol2:

Sumlin didn't drop any of the 3 INT's A&M should have had in the 4Q that would have won the game. Also, he couldn't do much about the fact that his QB was hurt in the 3Q and that his freshman backup went 3-17. The coaches should shoulder some of the blame, but the A&M players had opportunities to win the game and just did not make the plays. The UCLA players made plays and therefore won the game, sometimes momentum causes a lot of odd things to happen.

His performance was unreal. I'm not sure that the game tying TD was a catch though, appeared the ball was moving when the first foot came down and the second foot was out of bounds when it landed. They probably would have scored anyway.

They had Hart in the game at TE a lot in the second half and threw it to him twice, and he dropped both of them. Aside from Conrad, the receivers for Southern Miss looked better than the UK receivers.

Johnson threw the ball pretty well, sometimes your receivers need to make plays, kind of like the Southern Miss. receivers did today. The Wildcat was overused today in my opinion.

Corbin's field did not appear to be damaged at all, but we received less than a half inch of rain over the past 2 days.

Pulaski ran the ball effectively and if they would have stuck with the running game, this game would have gone down to the wire. It was 14-0 with over 3 minutes to go in the half, Pulaski first and goal at the Corbin 5. They tried to throw it 4 times which resulted in losing about 15 yds or so. Corbin takes over and fumbles it back to Pulaski on 1st down. The Maroons go back to their "passing game" and the QB gets stripped and Corbin takes it about 70 yds. to the house. Pulaski gets the ball back around their own 30 with less than a minute to go and promptly throw it up for grabs, so Corbin grabs it and returns it around 50 yards for a pick 6. Pulaski was receiving the second half kickoff as well.:idunno:

It was kind of funny to see them turn on each other last night. Matt finally showed some life though. Jason will be the next target unless Alex wins HOH.

Bell Co. was down last year, which could be attributed to a lot of factors, which included hiring a new coach very late and then providing him with virtually no asst. coaches. Add to that their best player went down with a season ending knee injury in the first game and things kind of fell apart. They did go 10-3 in 2015 and 9-3 in 2014 in Wayne Mills last 2 years as the head coach, which is the level I would expect them to peak at in a couple of years.
