  1. I would be ok with him leaving. This UK team lacked discipline and passion. Maybe it was a bad year, but they quit after the Mizzou loss.
  2. Yes, and for 4Runner, he is Ron's grandson. That is about as close to a genetic lottery winner as you will get w/ NewCath basketball.
  3. It was an ugly game, but watching Mayer and Huddleston battle it out was fun. Neither gave an inch, both played hard. This is going to be a great matchup in 3 years...on the football field, if Mayer plays. They both have really bright futures.
  4. I agree with that. If it goes to trial, it is nationally televised. All PERMISSIBLE evidence is presented in real time. The crime scene will be explained better. The PRESENTATION to the public would be more trustworthy.
  5. You forget about the most important part. Rules of evidence don't apply. Hearsay, fruit of the poisonous tree...all available for use by the Prosecutor in front of the Grand Jury. A lot of that stuff will be left out of the trial if they don't fit into the exceptions.
  6. From a law perspective, they are separate issues. You can incite a riot and not use hate speech. You can also use hate speech and not incite a riot. What amounts to either is in the eye of the judge listening to the cases, or the jury.
  7. What are the chances 2 games at this time if the year had such an obscure call?
  8. This kid has incredibly athletic bloodlines. His brother, I heard, got varsity minutes as a Frosh in football. Cousin was Mr. Baseball and is in AA minor league baseball. Tons of family have had great athletic careers. I have no idea if he is a hold back or not. Doesn't matter with him. His genetics are to be big and athletic and he has a good skill set.
  9. The 55 would be a better gauge for football speed, no? Both are BLAZING. Of course, then you have game speed and Venneman has TONS of that. Man, 11.07 and 11.14 hundred meters. That is insane.
  10. He's obviously losing it. He repeated himself twice according to the quotes up top.
  11. Brandenburg v. Ohio - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Here you go. Three elements to this: 1. Intent of message 2. Imminence. How quickly is the message going to be acted on 3. Likelihood. I don't know when or where he gave his speech. You can say let's riot on TV and if the riots happen 2 days later...you can't be arrested for that.
  12. As for the teaching thing, wouldn't a turnover followed by a time out teach the same thing?
  13. No, boys were undefeated until last night, and a 15 pt loss doesn't come down to calling/not calling a time out. I also haven't paid attention much to high school basketball since I graduated in '98, so I didn't know when this rule came into place. That being said, I've watched our guards get trapped and trap other kids and have the coaches call the time out. Like I said, if you look at it from a competitor's perspective, you have a grown adult overseeing the play and taking control out of the hands of the players. If you are a coach, you want that control so that you can keep possession and it doesn't come down to excitable players. I feel like keeping players calm is part of coaching. You yell for them to call a time out, your player needs to be able to listen. If you can just call it, you become too big a part of the game. Just my opinion. If there is a break in the action, before an official has handed the ball to a player, then I don't care who calls the timeout. Once the ball is in a player's hands whether taking it out or not, then I don't like it.
  14. Also, what are the counts for turf fields vs. grass fields. That whip lash effect from hitting the turf and your head bouncing has to do more damage than hitting grass.
  15. The scary part about concussions isn't the extreme case. It is the depression that they cause. It may not lead you to take your life, but it affects every day interactions.
  16. Pain medications, anti-inflammatories, and shady lawyers ready to pounce if something happens and those questions aren't asked.
  17. I'm surprised that gymnastics are so low seeing how many physical risks gymnasts take. Interesting.
  18. Maer or Mayer. Sorry, got him mixed up. Go to a St. Pius game. He is the one with the flat top and 20" arms. Just a beast.
  19. What cloud??? It is a fun debate. The fact that communities can legitimately argue this says a lot of positives about the areas. Best of luck to both of the Graves County schools. It is all in fun.
  20. I said this after the first CovCath game, #50 is a stud left tackle. That is Lou Bunning correct? It is amazing that he didn't play football the past two years, and comes out and plays like that.
  21. Matt Mann, Brian and Eddie Eviston, also. That's going back to '91
  22. St Plus and Highlands split the 6th and 7th grade games. Maile owned the 7th grade game. Very skilled and athletic to go with his strength. HMS won the 6th grade grade game grade game by 13. Didn't catch the 8th grade game but did catch warmups. Kid from St Plus threw down a dunk with height to spare. Very impressive hops.
  23. There was a KKK case that the Supreme Court ruled on that was similar to this Free Speech issue. I can't remember the holding. I will get it tomorrow.
  24. According to the City Councilman on Jones and Fingers that number could triple. Mayor Mallory's lasting legacy...
