  1. My Dad said it perfectly, "They are snake bit here." Perfect example is to start the 2nd half and McDonald misses 3 consecutive put backs. That has probably happened twice in his whole life. Then the free throw fiasco. Just unlucky stuff.
  2. NewCath can let them have their dog, they need to steal their fire and intensity.
  3. Completely agree. Had the best officials that the 9th has to offer, so I am sure they knew when enough would be enough. I thought that the officials did a great job. Just annoyed by the reaction of a couple of their coaches.
  4. I respect the coach and I love Baci, but some of those assistants are a lot to take. Every time out 4 assistants found a ref to complain to.
  5. If you get out hustled and out muscled that badly, then you don't deserve to win. CovCath's earlier games in the GCL really paid off. They were able to really use their hands in the 1st quarter and it really paid off. The 50/50 call on Weyer for the charge was huge bc it would have been 2 on Shuh. Instead Weyer picks his second up a little later and misses the whole 2nd quarter. Just pull up and hit the bank shot. He didn't and the decision went against him. NewCath's bench played really well. Anderson kept them in it during the 1st half. Next game, NewCath has to establish the post on offense. They did not have an offensive presence down there for the first 10 minutes.
  6. CovCath has 15 assistant coaches. 3 of them coach the other 12 wait for a timeout to yell at the ref.
  7. CovCath is out hustling NewCath. I expected more fire from the Breds.
  8. I feel bad for CC's player. He is a very tough kid. He fell over Salter trying to stop him on a fast break. He didn't scream or cry. He just went to the sideline with his bones visibly displaced. I wanted to scream for him. Hope that he can recover to play whichever Spring sport that he plays.
  9. No, it was straight ejection. I was really confused by it. The ball was being inbounded and Summit View had their press set up. Highlands was inbounding the ball and the kid from Summit had his back to the official handing the ball to the Highlands inbounder. So, for visual purposes, the kid was between Ahfeld and the ref denying the inbound. His view at best was at 45 degrees, but actually less that that. Hunter tried to get lose, swung his arm, and straight ejection. I would have done the same thing as the Summit player and held his jersey a little, and I would have done the same as Hunter and hit his arm off to get free. From where the ref was, he could not have seen the jersey hold, or where Hunter made contact. I'm telling you, the ref was frazzled by the end of the game. This all went down w/ 17 sec to go in a 6pt game.
  10. I'll be in the BOK suite rubbing elbows with people way outside of my pay grade.
  11. Basically, yes. He was ejected for forcefully swinging at the kid's arm to get it off of his jersey. The whole game was rough, and Summit View's coach being in his ear the whole game as loudly as he could didn't help.
  12. I will say that that there are about 1 Billion Indians waiting for the West to give the order. They have no love for Islam. That scares the crap out of me.
  13. this is a nice article about Pangallo and McDonald from NewCath. Zack Pangallo, Drew McDonald carry on family tradition at NewCath, top team in 9th region | NKyTribune For the record, I really like the NKY Tribune.
  14. The fact that Ahlfeld has missed two games for the incompetence of an official really ticks me off. He hit a kids arm off his jersey who was holding him. That play happens all of the time on out of bounds plays. The ref was BEHIND the player holding the jersey and only saw Ahfeld's hand swing. He had no view of intent, contact, just saw an arm swing. That refs had let the game get out of hand well before that as Highlands and Summit View games have been known to do. He was grasping at straws trying to get ahold of it, but w/ 17 sec. to go he made that call.
  15. If they could swing it, I would. Many kids develop b/n Freshman and Sophomore year. You want those guys to have court time. However, I don't currently wear a State Championship ring, so I'm guessing that Ruthsatz and his staff have a pretty good idea of what they want to get done with the Freshman level.
  16. ?? Good question. It did just as much for Vinateri as it did for Brady. W/out the tuck rule, who is to say that Vinateri gets to kick the tying and winning field goals in the snow and then the winner against the Rams. If he doesn't get those chances, would he have been able to do it in '03?
  17. I was wondering how many people would remember Smokey's mind games on Debo. Apparently just you and I did.
  18. Which is why he should leave now. If he loses that battle in the Spring and Summer, again, to Barrett, then he will have lost at least $400K a year for the next 3 years.
  19. If that had been Chuck Person, Larry takes him out and then steps over him while he laid on his back.
