Maybe but NKY teams beat Trinity and Collegiate as well. Ryle has an incredible CB in Rowe and a very deep group to match up w St X. I believe that they have more than a puncher’s chance.

I couldn’t be happier for Chris. Great kid from a great family. When he scored in the Regional Final I was pumped, though it hurt my team. I am glad to see him persevering and achieving.

Highlands looked lethargic. I couldn’t tell if it was recovery from Thursday or playing tight due to how big the game was. Ryle certainly rose to the occasion.

Ryle scored 2 in the 1st 10 minutes of the game and never looked back. This was the best that I have seen Ryle play as a collective unit. #2 and 18 were phenomenal. Congrats to the Raiders.

This bad boy will be kicking off at 4:30 today at Tower Park. Highlands, just like last season, beat Ryle in the regular season. Just like last season, Ryle will look to extract its revenge when it matters the most...in the post season.

3 penalties and I didn't see one of them. That's what you get for looking away. By most reports (Ryle and St. Henry fans), the one in extra-time was EXTREMELY soft. That is a tough way to end your high school career.

No. Better than La Salle, but when you take into account resources and competition for players, I put CovCath ahead of them in terms of bang for your buck. Would La Salle beat CovCath annually? I am not sure. Elder would, so I am not talking about better teams per se. I am talking about the opportunity to create a state contender every single year. I don’t feel Elder or La Salle offer that like the other 3 do.

I will leave it for the St Henry and Ryle fans to comment on the game. 3 goals all on penalties, the last in extra time.

Bernham stopped 4 of 6 PKs. Insane. Great game by the Birds, I thought. They took it to CovCath instead of sitting defensively. Ordonez and Gish created problems up top. I was really impressed with Ford, Harris, Cavacini, and Will H in the back. Hochleutner in particular did a great job slowing down Deimling until cramps got him. The rotation of Schuley, Broering, Ford, and Pernod did a great job of not giving Wulfek room to dictate the game in midfield like the regular season game. Exciting finish

Only 3 jobs in the area make sense over CovCath right now. Moeller, St X, and Colerain. When you take into account the geographical draw CC has, the facilities, the education, and the tradition they have the pieces to be top of the heap for a long time.

Jared changed the game up here. Before him 1800 yards at 14 passing TDS was a big year. After him, all expectations of a huge year changed. He was the first passing QB up here that put up numbers like Chris Redman and Tim Couch did. He really accelerated the evolution of high school QB for our area as a passer. Also, he would have rushed for 1000 yards if he had played more than 3/4s of the games due to blowing teams out.

As a HIGH SCHOOL QB, based on the era, CovCath’s Adam McCormick deserves recognition. Later on Dixie’s Matt O’Toole was awesome. Only QB with a win over Trinity besides Gino.

Highlands wore Cooper down and scored 2 second half goals to win. Highlands opened the scoring in the first half on a penalty converted by Ordonez that he created with a weaving run into the box. Cooper tied it up a little later on a really well placed header into the corner off of a corner. Ordonez scored again in the second half and Gish wrapped it up with about 10 to go.
