Starters were out in the 1st, some came back in the 2nd, IMO to try and get the 45 pt lead so the clock would run. Pineville player left the game and pulled his shoes off. Rumour was that he was wearing baseball spikes. He didn't come back in - is this an ejectable offense, if the rumour was indeed true?

Mboro was up 34 - 0 with more than 6 minutes left in the first Q, and pulled their starters. (Later put some of them back in to get the clock moving). Had 4 INT's led by Adams with 2.

Only if the D8 winner was seeded higher or equal to the D7 winner. If the #2 seed in D8 wins out of D8, and the #1 seed of D7 wins out of D7, then D7 will have home field. Right?

6 Classes and the NKY Coaches Redux
MountainTop5 replied to theguru's topic in KY Football (High School)
It was my understanding from the get-go that the 6 Class proposal was meant to address long travel times for District games and the fact that 2A and 4A had such large differences between the smallest and largest schools in the Class. The urban Districts don't understand the travel issue for District Games - they don't have 2-3 opponents in their Districts that are over 100 miles away, one way. And when a school has to play another school twice its size in the Playoffs, the larger school has a natural advantage. Nobody's picking on NKy or any of the urban areas. They've just had advantages over the years and now the rest of the state gets to share some of them. -

My daughter said it was a local version of the "Ultimate Fighter" series. Don't know what channel. -

BTW, Andrew Breeding will be playing Branham's position this year, IMO. He's projected as one of the best LB's in the State. We'll see how he does. -

Defender - The LB you've got in mind was Floyd Branham, and he was one of the best I've ever seen. He's been on TV lately as one of those "Extreme Tough Man" no-rules kickboxing competitors - it's called something else, but I can't remember. Branham is the only one who's undefeated. -

Mboro should also have much better depth on the line in '06. Nick Reynolds will probably be the only Senior starter, but the kids that played as Freshmen and Sophs are now Sophs & Juniors, and they have grown. I'd like to see Mboro be able to Platoon linemen this year - after going both ways in the trenches for the whole game, fatigue has taken its toll in the 4th Q. -
Class 2A, Region 4 Poll

Mboro returns more Seniors than they have in 3 years. Earls, Breeding, and Hoskins are all legitimate D1 Prospects. QB Trevor Hoskins (6'3", 190) posted the best overall numbers of any KY QB at both the Athens and Louisville Combines. Scoff if you will, but he may be the best QB in the State. TE / LB Andrew Breeding (6'2", 210) had the fastest 40 time of any TE or LB from KY at both the Athens (4.67) and Louisville (4.60) Combines. One of the top LB Prospects in KY. RB / WR Casey Earls (5'11", 175) had a top 10 time in the Athens Agilities (4.06), and ran a 4.66 electronic 40. Getting D1 looks at RB, WR, S. The Jackets should do well this year. -
I think Trevor Hoskins from Mboro planned to attend.

Who are the QBs to look out for in KY in 2006?
MountainTop5 replied to PepRock01's topic in KY Football (High School)
Middlesboro's Trevor Hoskins has to be near the Top of the list. Trevor Hoskins - 6'3", 190#, 4.69 forty - 2300 All-Purpose yards, 27 TD's in 2005. Last list I heard included Marshall, Purdue, Cincinnati and Western giving him serious looks. -
Middlesboro returns a pair of speedy backs: Casey Earls - 5'11", 175#, 4.66 forty - 1870 All-Purpose yards and 144 Pts scored in 2005. C. G. Ford - 5'7", 180#, 4.62 forty - 938 yards, 86 Pts scored in 2005.

Smith and Hoskins can't pitch until Saturday, right? Over five, and you get to sit for 3 days, correct? -

SL 6 CC 3 -
Mboro beat OBI 13-3 in 6. Any score on Knox / Whitley yet?
-
SL beat Mboro 7 -4 earlier this season at SL. Neither team pitched their #1. Game was much closer than the score.

I still say the debate isn't Public/Private, it's Urban/Rural. Kids in Urban school Districts with several HS's in the District and open enrollment can choose which school to attend. The best ballers will want to all go to a school with a chance of getting to the carpet. Superpowers develop, Public and Private. Very few Rural school Districts have more than one HS anymore - the kids in those District have only ONE choice. If they live in a District with a HS that doesn't play good ball, for whatever reason, they can't go to another school outside their school District without violating KHSAA rules. That's what the debate is really all about. Rural ballers MUST go to their local school, so, in order to maintain a semblance of fairness, Urban schools must play by the same rule. The solution is to abolish open enrollment, and make the kids go to school in their home Districts.

The difference in the 40 times is most likely because the Army Combine was hand-timed, and the NIKE Combine was electronic. 4.87 is not a bad time for electronic.

Where can you see the results? Several people at the baseball game last night were saying that all three participants from Mboro (Hoskins, Breeding, & Earls) ran their 40's in the 4.6's, so I tried to find them on the internet, but couldn't get into the website. Several others had talked about what a good showing Trevor Hoskins had at the Elite Eleven, but I couldn't find anything on that either. Can you help?

Middlesboro vs Bell County Predictions
MountainTop5 replied to 13th Analyst's topic in KY Baseball (High School)
I'll pick Mboro based on tradition. I really don't know that much about Bell, except that Nelson is a fine catcher and they have some other good young players. Who do you think they'll throw? -
Middlesboro 5 Perry County Central 1

Middlesboro 5 PCC 1 Score from late in the game (and about 11:30 PM) - I couldn't stay for all of it. -
All A Classic Middlesboro -vs- Barbourville

Middlesboro pitched Chris Tolliver. They announced who Barbourville pitched, but I don't remember. -
Middlesboro 13 Barbourville 12

Middlesboro won 13-12, on their last AB. Face Cumberland tomorrow, I guess at Cumberland. Do you know for sure? -
Middlesboro's Trevor Hoskins was the highest-rated QB with a 73. Looks like you get a 40 for getting your name on the list. I know there are players who are being actively recruited who were not on the list (Middlesboro's Andrew Breeding is visiting D1 schools, but was not to be found on this list), so I hope that Scouts.com will update and correct errors. (I noticed several Height / Weight inaccuracies, too).
