I don't think it matters how good the GOP candidate is, the same people that voted for Obama before will repeat their choice. The GOP will have to have people crawling in from every walk of life, that didn't vote in the last election. Personally, I believe Obama to be one of the all time worst Presidents, along with Carter. I'm an Independent that will probably vote for Romney. However, if an empty milk carton :cry:gets the GOP nomination this time against Obama, it gets my vote.

No, would you if it were G. C. ? I can't imagine his family being content in a small community like Greenup. You have to be from here to appreciate it. I do. But then, I didn't apply. -

I believe the 30 day posting is up on June 5th or 6th. They cannot announce the new new coach until then. -

That is correct. But, apply if you want. Also picknroll, I figured the same. At least this time, I believe they will have a coach who has coached. -

I believe the decision is made. The rest is smoke and mirrors. It certainly isn't the principal making this call. -

Greenup had some tall and very athletic kids the last four years. What they were lacking was fundamental instruction. -

Lol Ward would be a good hire for them but that's probably not the way they're going. -

The job will not be posted until Monday and they have to wait 30 days to name a coach. Supt. Hall said in the ADI article that they hoped to start the interviews late this week. Ward resigned @ Coal Grove saying he wanted to come back to Kentucky. But, he applied the last time and wasn't considered.:idunno: -

Professor, They had the top athletes in the region last year, from top to bottom. They should have been close to the top the last four years. Politics has played a huge part in the selection of their coaches in the past few hires. They have who should be the best big man in the region coming back but he has not had the chance to develop properly. I will still put Stephenson in my top 5 players for the coming year.:thumb: -
Coach Nickell turned in his resignation Thursday. 1. Greenup defeated one team all season with a winning record. (at home vs. 18-14 Lewis Co on Jan 14th) 2. The combined record of the teams which Greenup defeated was 120-340. 3. GC had two wins against Lawrence Co 0-28, two against Rose Hill 4-21, a win against Green Co. 2-24, Morgan Co. 2-23 and so on... 4. The next best team to Lewis County which Greenup played that they defeated was twice against Boyd Co 12-17.

Greenup County is posting for a new coach Monday. Nickell turned in his resignation Thursday.
-
They supposedly cured the problem with a new Supt., Principal and Athletic Director. Time will tell.
-
It all depends on the coach. If they needed the boot, they got it. They haven't had a keeper in some time.

I am expecting a decision within the week as to current Coach Nickel's status. Although the Muskies finished the season @ 17-10, let's break it down. This program has had too many athletes to accept this type of outcome. Let's hope for the kid's sake that politics doesn't play a part in the next search and the best coach available lands in Greenup County.

I cannot see Greenup County standing pat for next year. But, you never know, stranger things have happened there.:eyeonyou::popcorn:
